Shawnda is an absolute gem of a woman, mother, and friend. Listening to the pain in her voice breaks you on a whole level you aren’t prepared for. As a medical mother, I’ve seen the tubes and wires and chaos from having my own baby in the ICU, but I wasn’t prepared for how I reacted to hearing these things come from such a wonderful woman. No mother should have to endure this type of pain and hardship. I am so proud of you for putting your story out there for everyone to hear.

A mothers worst nightmare… trying to wake up from a new “normal” she didn’t ask for or prepare for this chapter of her life. I don’t know what to say other than this is a mothers worst nightmare. you don’t hear the pain in her voice but just know it’s there. She shares her story not only to help heal herself but to let others know that this could happen to anyone at anytime in any community. I am proud to know her personally and can tell you she is one of the most involved parents I have ever met. You will not regret following her healing journey.
