Why Being Good Isn’t Enough | Romans

Romans has big ideas - and a very human situation behind them. A divided church. Different backgrounds. People convinced the other side needed to change. This week, Jeff and Chris explore Paul’s letter to the Romans and how the gospel brings people back to God and into one family. They talk through salvation by grace through faith, the frustration of still struggling with sin, and the hope found in Romans 8. What does it mean that God works all things together for good? Can hardship separate us from His love? And how should grace shape the way we handle disagreements? It’s a conversation full of practical questions, familiar back-and-forth, and reasons to open a book of the Bible that might have felt a little intimidating. Can God Still Use Me? | The Story of David

We tend to remember David with a slingshot in his hand. His full story is a little more complicated. This week, Jeff and Chris walk through the life of King David: shepherd, giant killer, fugitive, king, worshiper - and a man whose choices caused tremendous harm. Why does the Bible include the ugly parts of its heroes’ lives? And what does being “a man after God’s own heart” actually mean? With plenty of back-and-forth along the way, they explore the waiting years, the dangers of unchecked power, and David’s response when he’s confronted with his sin. It’s an honest conversation about repentance, consequences, and a faithful God who works through broken people. Where is God in a Broken World?

A few dad jokes turn into a pretty big conversation this week: why does the world feel so far from the way it should be? Jeff and Chris head back to the beginning in Genesis 1-3, where the Bible starts with a good creation before things unravel. Together, they explore freedom, temptation, shame, and our tendency to question whether God really knows what’s best for us. They also follow the bigger story of a God who keeps pursuing people, even when they hide from Him—and who promises that brokenness won’t have the final word. It’s a conversation about the mess we’re living in, the choices we make, and why there’s still reason to hope. More from The Bible Guys: https://thebibleguys.com Want to spend more time in the Bible?
