Let's Talk Babies, Birthdays & More

Let's Talk Babies, Birthdays & More We’ve got some catching up to do, Faves! This week on Hey Fave!, we’re kicking things off with a potential *Destiny’s Child, NSYNC & B2K stadium tour 👀—would we be here for it, and who would make a better third act? Then we’re recapping our first birthday trip in FIVE years! We’re talking about where we went, what we did, our Epcot experience, favorite moments, and whether we’d do anything differently. And then…BABY CINCO! Ciara’s latest baby announcement has us asking: Is there such a thing as having too many kids? And if parents can adequately care for their children, is it anybody else’s business? We’re also getting into the responsibility placed on older siblings in big families and another debate: How many baby showers are TOO many baby showers?! It’s a little music, a little vacation recap, and a whole lot of opinions. Let’s talk about it, Faves! Business Spotlight: "The Shift" Anthology, Conference, and Book Launch https://www.cyclebreakers4life.com/new-page-1 https://payhip.com/ SHIFT brings together 19 authors and 19 transformational stories centered around faith, transformation, purpose, healing, leadership and more—all with the goal of turning real-life experiences into strategies that can encourage and empower someone else. Let's Talk Cutoffs, Closure & Forgiveness

Let's Talk Cutoffs, Closure & Forgiveness Can you forgive someone and still decide you don’t want them in your life? This week on Hey Fave!, we’re continuing a conversation from last week’s episode on grief after hearing Pastor Dharius Daniels discuss the idea of “prematurely grieving”—when you begin emotionally processing the end of something before it actually ends. Could that explain why it sometimes looks like someone moved on incredibly fast? Then, we’re getting into cutoffs, closure, forgiveness, and boundaries. Is a conversation before cutting someone off a courtesy—or something you owe them? Does everyone deserve an explanation? And are some people really looking for closure…or just another opportunity to argue their case? We also unpack the statement: “I forgave you. I just don’t want you near me anymore.” Can forgiveness exist without reconciliation? Does forgiving someone mean you have to trust them again? And most importantly, does forgiveness require access? We’re talking about learning to forgive while still maintaining boundaries, protecting your peace, and accepting that sometimes forgiveness doesn’t restore a relationship—it simply releases you from it. 🎧 Join us for another honest conversation and let us know: Can you truly forgive someone and still permanently remove them from your life? Let's Talk The Grief We Don't Talk About

When you hear the word grief, what comes to mind? For many of us, grief is associated with death—but what if it's so much more than that? In this episode of Hey Fave!, we're having an honest conversation about the different forms of grief that often go unnoticed. We discuss grieving relationships with people who are still alive, processing life's disappointments, and mourning the version of yourself you thought you'd become. Inspired by a thought from comedian Tacarra Williams, we explore whether millennials were sold an outdated blueprint for success. What happens when you do everything "right"—go to school, work hard, follow the rules—and life still doesn't look the way you imagined? Has social media made it even harder to let go of the life you thought you'd have? We also talk about whether grief has a timeline, if there's a "right" way to grieve, and how it's possible to hold both grief and joy at the same time. Most importantly, we end with hope—reflecting on how some of life's greatest blessings can come from seasons we never would've chosen. 🎧 Join us for a heartfelt conversation about healing, expectations, and finding beauty beyond Plan A. _____________________________________________ Chapters 0:00 Intro 36:04 Random Question: 8:17 What comes to mind when you hear the word "grief"? 9:49 Have you ever realized that you were grieving something long after it happened? 21:02 Do you think there's a right way to grieve? 23:02 Have you ever judged someone else's grieving process? 24:50 Can you grieve and still experience joy? 29:16 Can you mourn someone who is still here? 30:23 Faith Over Logic Commercial 31:20 Commercial Ends 34:02 Millenial women are quietly grieving the life they thought they'd have (post) 46:38 What rules did you follow that didn't produce the result you wanted? 1:00:09 Is adjusting your expectations giving up or growing? 1:01:23 Do you ever grieve a version of yourself that you used to be? 1:12:04 Business Spotlight 1:16:01 End ____________________________________________________ Business Spotlight: Blues Mortuary Inc. Let’s Talk Rules We Don’t Question

After hearing the recent story involving Nolan Wells, we found ourselves thinking about one phrase so many of us heard growing up: "We come together. We leave together." Was it about safety? Control? Or simply looking out for one another? That conversation led us to something bigger—the unspoken rules many Black families grew up with. The ones nobody ever wrote down, but somehow everyone seemed to know. In this episode, we're talking about the lessons that shaped us, from keeping your hands visible during a traffic stop and "acting like you got some sense," to asking before inviting people over, not sitting on the bed with outside clothes, and making sure you finish your food before drinking your juice. Of course, we couldn't forget the funny ones either: when your mom starts calling your full government name, everybody's auntie can discipline you, and your parents' friends' kids automatically become your cousins. Some of these rules still guide us today, while others leave us wondering if they still make sense. 🎧 Join us as we laugh, reflect, and ask: Which unspoken Black family rules are you still living by?
