Building Together | Pastor Jonathan Mast | Nehemiah 3

God's work was never meant to be a one-person job. Nehemiah 3 contains a long list of names and sections of Jerusalem's wall being rebuilt. At first glance, it may seem like a chapter to skim—but every name tells a story of someone who stepped up and played their part. From priests and leaders to goldsmiths, perfumers, families, and ordinary workers, people from all different backgrounds joined together to rebuild the wall. In this message, we discover three principles for Building Together: 🔨 Start With Why — The people consecrated their work to God. The ultimate purpose of everything we do is to bring glory to Him. 📋 Follow a Plan — Nehemiah organized people around specific sections of the wall and gave them a clear place to serve. 🤝 Work as a Team — The wall was rebuilt because many different people worked together. The same is true of the church. God has given each person gifts and a place to contribute to the work of His Kingdom. Paul reminds us that “to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:7) You may not be able to do everything—but you can do your part. And ultimately, the Sheep Gate at the beginning and end of Nehemiah 3 points us toward Jesus, the Lamb of God. Nehemiah's wall had a gate that kept the enemy out; Jesus opened the door so sinners could come in. Through faith in Christ, we become part of His body and join together in His work.

Kingdom Builders | Jan Jones | Nehemiah 2

What does it look like to become a Kingdom Builder? Nehemiah 2 is a story about moving from burden to action. After months of prayer, Nehemiah finally has an opportunity to do something about the broken walls of Jerusalem. But rebuilding wouldn't be easy. Nehemiah needed permission, resources, protection, and a plan. More importantly, he needed to trust that God was the One who would make the work possible. In this message, we discover what it means to be Kingdom Builders: 🔨 Pray before you act. Nehemiah had spent months bringing the burden before God. 🔨 Be willing to step out in faith. When the opportunity came, Nehemiah didn't allow fear to keep him from moving forward. 🔨 Count the cost. Nehemiah inspected the walls, assessed the situation, and developed a plan before asking others to join him. 🔨 Invite others into the work. The rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls wasn't a one-person project. God's work is accomplished as His people faithfully serve together. God may not be calling you to rebuild a wall, but He has given you opportunities to build something that matters for eternity.

Intercession | Pastor Jonathan Mast | Nehemiah 1:4-11

What happens when God's people stop trying to do everything themselves and start praying? In Nehemiah 1, Nehemiah receives devastating news about Jerusalem. The city is still in trouble, and its walls remain broken down. But before Nehemiah takes action, he gets on his knees. His response gives us a powerful pattern for prayer. In this message, we explore how Nehemiah prayed and what he prayed for. Prayer isn't simply preparation for the work. Prayer is the work. We're reminded that God can do it again—and He can do it through us when we submit to His leading and empowering.

Foundation | Pastor Jonathan Mast | Nehemiah 1:1-4

What kind of foundation are you building for your future? We often assume the future simply happens to us. But the decisions we make today are laying the foundation for the life we'll live tomorrow. As we begin our new series Nehemiah: Building The Future, we meet Nehemiah in a moment of devastating news. Jerusalem is still in trouble and shame. Its walls are broken down and its gates have been destroyed by fire. But Nehemiah's response teaches us where rebuilding begins. Before he made a plan, he wept. Before he took action, he fasted. Before he started building, he prayed. In this message, we'll discover that: 1. We cannot build a future worth living on trouble and shame. The foundation for our future doesn't begin with everything around us—it begins with what is happening within us. 2. The big need should lead us to a bigger God. Nehemiah didn't respond to the brokenness around him with his own strength. He brought it before God. 3. Prayer isn't the last resort; it's the first move. Before we try to build, fix, or change something, we need to get on our knees and seek God. Ultimately, our hope isn't found in becoming strong enough to rebuild our lives on our own. We are weak, but God is strong. And the gospel reminds us that through Christ, we can be rescued, made new, and given a new identity and purpose.

The Pathway to Peace | Pastor Jonathan Mast | Philippians 4:1–9

Where does real peace come from? Paul wrote Philippians from prison, yet he spoke repeatedly about joy, peace, and contentment. In Philippians 4, he gives us a practical pathway to experience the peace of God—even when our circumstances aren't peaceful. In this message, we explore three dimensions of peace: 1. Peace With God — Our peace begins with a right relationship with God through Jesus. 2. Peace With Others — Pursue reconciliation, take the initiative, ask for help when needed, and remember that we are on the same team and share a common mission. 3. Peace With Yourself — Instead of allowing anxiety to control us, Paul calls us to bring everything to God through prayer and thanksgiving. Paul's challenge is simple: Think differently. Pray differently. Live differently. When we practice these things, Paul says, “the God of peace will be with you.”

What To Do With Unmet Expectations | Pastor Jonathan Mast | Philippians 3

“I thought I would __________ by now.” We've all finished that sentence. Life doesn't always turn out the way we expected. Dreams go unfulfilled, plans change, and seasons of waiting can leave us discouraged, bitter, or wondering where God is. In Philippians 3, Paul gives us a different way to respond. Despite experiencing tremendous suffering and circumstances he never could have planned, Paul continued to find his joy in Christ and kept his eyes on what was ahead. In this message, we'll discover three things we can do when life doesn't go according to plan: 1. Rejoice in the Lord — Find your joy, identity, and security in Christ rather than circumstances. 2. Run Your Race — Don't get stuck in the past. Let what you've been through refine you without allowing it to define you. 3. Refocus on Eternity — Remember that this world is not our final home. Our citizenship is in heaven, and Jesus is coming again. Your life may be filled with unmet expectations, but there is one thing you can stake your life on: Jesus.

Unity Through Humility | Pastor Jonathan Mast | Philippians 2:1-11

What is the key to experiencing genuine unity in the church, our families, and our relationships? In Philippians 2, Paul points us toward humility. Unity doesn't require uniformity—it requires people who are willing to put down their own agendas, value others, and put on the mind of Christ. In this message, we explore two challenges: 1️⃣ Put Down Your Agenda Paul calls us to move beyond selfish ambition and consider the interests of others. 2️⃣ Put On the Mind of Christ Jesus is our ultimate example of humility. He willingly laid aside His privileges, took the form of a servant, and humbled Himself to the point of death on a cross. The message is simple: Put down your agenda and put on the mind of Christ. When people who are different from one another choose to walk in humility, love, and unity, the world gets a glimpse of Jesus.
