    Week 30. What I Know Now (5 years later)

    Five years ago, I thought I had one year to figure my entire life out. I had just finished my second year of college, was graduating early, and felt like the clock was already running out. I thought success had to happen before graduation. I thought I needed to avoid the “normal” path. I thought every decision had to move me closer to building the life I wanted. A few months later, I quit my college track team. At the time, it felt reckless. Looking back, it was one of the most defining decisions I’ve ever made. In this episode, I revisit that mindset and reflect on what five more years of building a business, making mistakes, creating freedom, and chasing meaningful work have taught me. You’ll hear why: • Quitting isn’t always giving up. • Growth takes longer than you think. • Building a business isn’t about going faster—it’s about staying in the game. • Your twenties aren’t about having it all figured out. • Freedom is built one decision at a time.     (2020). What I Thought I Knew: Force vs Flow

    Day 149 • 2020 Stop Forcing Your Life What I Thought I Knew vs. What I’ve Learned (6 Years Later) Twenty years old. Last day of my second year of college. Walking outside with no destination, recording another voice memo that I never expected anyone else to hear. At the time, I thought I was documenting my life. Looking back, I was documenting my mindset. Listening to this recording six years later, one theme stood above everything else: I was learning the difference between building a life and forcing one. Back then I believed happiness lived somewhere in the future. One more semester. One more job. One more relationship. One more opportunity. Today, I see things differently. The best opportunities in my life have rarely come from forcing them into existence. They’ve come from becoming the kind of person who naturally attracts them. That’s true in business. That’s true in relationships. That’s true in faith. It’s true almost everywhere. What I Thought I Knew At 20, I was obsessed with momentum. I wanted things faster. I wanted certainty. I wanted life to unfold according to my timeline. Even in this recording, you can hear me wrestling with patience. I knew forcing relationships never worked. I knew forcing business never worked. But I still wanted everything to happen sooner. Like most ambitious people, I confused urgency with progress. What I’ve Learned Life has a funny way of rewarding alignment more than pressure. The harder I’ve tried to force opportunities, the more they seemed to slip away. The more I’ve focused on becoming someone worth finding… The more opportunities have naturally found me. The relationships. The clients. The friendships. Even the countries I’ve dreamed of living in. They’ve almost always arrived after I stopped trying to control every outcome. Patience isn’t passive. It’s trusting yourself enough to keep showing up without needing immediate proof. Profitable Takeaways The difference between hustling and forcing outcomes. Why patience compounds faster than pressure. Building a life instead of chasing one. Becoming comfortable with uncertainty. Appreciating simple moments before they become memories. Learning that the journey has always been the destination. A Thought That Stayed With Me One sentence from this recording still feels true today: “The most beautiful life is the natural one.” I didn’t realize it then… But that single sentence has quietly shaped almost everything I’ve built since.     Week 27. Ready, Aim, Shoot!

    For most of my life I’ve lived by the opposite formula. Ready. Aim. Aim. Aim. Aim. Then maybe shoot. The funny thing about chasing growth is eventually you realize the same brain that helped you build everything can become the thing that keeps you stuck. Thinking is valuable. Overthinking is expensive. At 17, I started a business because I didn’t know enough to convince myself I couldn’t. I just moved. Somewhere along the journey, success created more expectations. More expectations created more analysis. More analysis created hesitation. The kid selling things out of his mom’s garage wasn’t worried about having the perfect plan. He was worried about taking the next shot. And somewhere along the way, I think a lot of ambitious people lose that. We convince ourselves we’re being strategic when sometimes we’re just hiding behind preparation. The lesson I keep coming back to: Clarity comes from movement. You don’t think your way into the next version of yourself. You act. You collect feedback. You adjust. You keep playing the game. This chapter of life has been about removing the things that no longer serve me and getting back to the simplest version of growth: Show up. Do the reps. Tell the truth. Keep going. The world rewards people who stay in motion. Ready. Aim. Shoot. What I Thought I Knew (2021) I thought success came from figuring out the perfect plan before making the move. If I could just think through every possible outcome, avoid every mistake, and prepare enough… I’d win. What I’ve Learned (2026) Preparation matters. But momentum teaches lessons that planning never will. The version of you capable of handling the next level is usually built through the process of chasing it. Not before.     Then vs Now | Day 17. 2021. This Was Always The Point

    Welcome back winners it is Week 27 of the current paradigm but for the next few weeks we are going back to our early twenties... Day 17 • 2021 | Learning to Love the Process Five years ago I was sitting in the Florida Keys after a meditation, recording a voice memo that I never expected anyone else to hear. At the time, I wasn't building an audience. I wasn't creating content. I wasn't trying to go viral. I was simply trying to remember who I was becoming. Listening back today, what surprised me wasn't how much I've changed. It was how much has stayed the same. At 21, I believed success was about learning to appreciate the process. I talked about embracing uncertainty, not worrying about money, trusting that people come into your life for a reason, and believing that building something meaningful would take time. I remember saying that I wanted to become the best, but more importantly, I wanted to become myself. Looking back, I don't think I fully understood what that meant. Five years later, I still believe the process is the point. The difference is that life has tested that belief. Businesses have grown and changed. Relationships have come and gone. I've lived abroad. Started over. Fallen in love. Lost clients. Found new opportunities. Questioned my purpose more times than I can count. And somehow I keep arriving back at the same lesson. The process wasn't preparing me for life. The process is life. I thought there would eventually be a moment where everything clicked and I'd stop questioning myself. That moment never came. Instead, confidence has become less about certainty and more about trusting myself to figure things out. I said that appreciating the process would matter more than the destination. I still believe that's true. Maybe even more today than I did back then. Because every chapter I was impatient to finish ended up becoming part of the story I now value most. If there's one thing this old recording reminded me of, it's this: You don't need to have your entire life figured out. You just need to keep becoming the person who can handle whatever comes next.
