    **POST DEADLINE METS ARE FUN!

The Mets sold at the trade deadline — and apparently forgot they were supposed to stop winning. The post-deadline Mets are 4-0, playing loose, aggressive baseball and suddenly looking a whole lot more entertaining than the team we watched before the fire sale. They're stealing bases, getting timely hits and giving some of the younger players an opportunity to show what they can do. Are the Mets actually BETTER to watch now that expectations are gone? And while this probably isn't the beginning of some miracle playoff run, could the final two months finally give Mets fans something fun to watch? Across town, the pressure is building on the Yankees. Boston has won 27 of its last 30 and is charging hard, while the Yankees continue searching for consistent offense. With the Red Sox breathing down their necks, the Yankees can't afford to wait much longer for the lineup to figure things out. Plus, the Yankees are in the middle of a huge weekend series against the Atlanta Braves. Can the Bombers find enough offense to hold off Boston and protect their position in the American League? On this episode of Locked Up Sports:⚾ Mets win four straight after the trade deadline⚾ Are the post-deadline Mets actually MORE entertaining?⚾ Why the younger, more aggressive Mets are suddenly fun to watch⚾ What Mets fans should look for over the final two months⚾ Red Sox win 27 of 30 and put serious pressure on the Yankees⚾ Yankees offense continues to be a major concern⚾ Yankees-Braves weekend series⚾ How worried should Yankees fans be about Boston? USA Eliminated By Belgium

USA no-shows another big World Cup match as they are soundly beat by Belgium ending their World Cup Run. The dream is over. After months of hype and optimism surrounding the home World Cup, the United States crashed out in the Round of 16 with a crushing 4-1 defeat to Belgium. Tonight we ask the hard questions. Was this team overrated from the beginning? Were American fans sold another bill of goods by U.S. Soccer? For years we've heard about the “golden generation,” the investment, the academies, and how the United States was finally ready to compete with the world's elite. Yet when the lights got brightest, the same story unfolded once again. The U.S. still can't beat teams that are as good—or better—than they are. They can dominate weaker nations. They can qualify comfortably. They can build excitement every four years. But when it's time to prove they belong among the world's best, they come up short. We'll break down everything that went wrong against Belgium, the tactical mistakes, the defensive collapse, the lack of composure, and why the gap between the United States and the true powers of world football may still be larger than many wanted to admit. Is this truly progress? Or are we simply back where we started? We'll also look ahead to what must change before the next World Cup cycle begins. Talking Points Belgium overwhelms USA 4-1. Defensive breakdowns all night. Midfield unable to control possession. Lack of finishing and quality in the final third. Biggest tactical mistakes. Did the coaching staff get it wrong? Why the U.S. still struggles against elite nations. Were expectations unrealistic? Has U.S. Soccer overpromised progress? Is this really a “golden generation”? What needs to change before 2030? Final grade for the U.S. World Cup.
