DND Show Notes Intro Today’s Episode: In today’s episode, we will introduce you to Deal or No Deal, Multi-Family Real Estate Investing and its Host, Michael Ditton… Although the podcast is new, the history and chain of events that led here are decades old. First, we’ll tell you a story of how Deal or No Deal came to light and then a brief history on its creator. The Purpose of Deal or No Deal, Multi-Family Investing PodCast Our Mission and Vision for this podcast is to share the knowledge and stories of others to inspire and motivate those not only in the search for success in real estate investing but their overall journey in their Life Adventure and to help create Abundance on every level of their life. In early 2021, while evaluating several deals a week looking for multi-family real estate investments that would recognize very attractive cash on cash return, above average return on investments (ROI) and security that provides a level of freedom that real estate investments can provide, the very first episode of Deal or No Deal was born. While sharing this process with our investors, not only of the deals that were attractive to us but the reason why we would turn others away, it became as simple as, it’s a potential “Deal or No Deal” based on the analysis. This PodCast will not only have episodes where we share the process of analyzing deals and share why in our eyes, we see them as a “Deal or No Deal”, but the PodCast will be SO MUCH more. We will be interviewing some of the biggest names in the Real Estate Investment industry and have them share their stories on how they reached the level of success they have, what their biggest takeaways were and how giving back and serve others enriched their lives. We will be interviewing others who may or may not be in the industry but in our eyes have reached their own level of success, who inspire and motivate others to follow their passion and strive for the level of success they desire. We will also be interviewing what we call our Wealth Building Team, as theses guests not only have reached their own level of success but are part of the team assisting us others in their wealth building process. A Wealth Building Team is part of every successful investor and has been integral in helping them reach their goals. When we talk about Success or Financial Independence, we are not saying you have to be as wealthy as Bill Gates, or successful as Tony Robbins, but we all have our own level of success and that is the Dreams and Goals we are referring to. Financial Independence is different for each and every one of us. I have owned and operated several businesses, I have played rolls on screen and as a voice over artist off screen. I have MC’d and hosted live events and after sailing from Panama to California and then up and down the Pacific Coast of Mexico for 9 years, I LOVE to get on any stage or any venue where I can share my stories and adventures. As that serial entrepreneur from the age of 8 where I started my first business by selling fresh vegetables door to door out of my little red wagon, to running a hamburger stand at the age of 14, then owning and operating several successful companies over the years, along with a passion for real estate and real estate investments, I created and am living a life I had always dreamt of and now I help other work towards their goals. At 18 I entered into the military and served in the United States Armed Forces for the next 20 years in the Army and Army Reserves. As for the beginning of my real estate background, I started investing in real at the age of 20, not fully understanding the benefit of investing in real estate but knowing it was the best investment I could offer, to provide a good home for my young family. Then life threw me a curveball…. In 1991 returning home after 7 months of active duty during the war, mentally and financially bankrupt, no work, no hope of work, divorced, having lost everything and being denied support after serving my country, I had to find my way back. It was remembering the dreams and goals I had set early in life that pulled me through that difficult time, in fact, I’d say it was what saved my life!! After rebuilding my life between 1991 and 1995, I found my way back and was in a position to purchase my next piece of real estate. Thank God I had a friend who was in real estate and he was in it for than just the money. When I went to him and said can you help me buy my next home, I still remember to this day what he said to me. “So, what do you want the home to do for you”. This was not only the beginning of building my own real estate portfolio but learning how to teach others how to build theirs, whether it was an individual, a couple or investors, no matter what their needs, I found out what they were and I served them helping them make the best decision for those needs. In 1997, I bought my first multi-family property and from that day forward have personally purchased and sold tens of millions in real estate along with helping others with their real estate needs and investments. Over the next 20+ years I had owned a mix of multi-family, single family homes and condos, managing all of my own properties in the late 90’s to early 2000’s and then again building a new foundation in 2021. Back in the day, in the height of my career, I had become involved in as much as I had time for. Along with being the Associate VP and Estates Director of Joan Young Realty, I also sat on several boards in and out of the real estate community, had been nominated for President of Ventura County Coastal Association of Realtors and serves as President of the Channel Islands Waterfront HOA, a 120-unit Waterfront Condominium complex where I owned investment units. In early 2000, realizing there was more than life, I put a plan in to motion to go see what else life had to offer. Between 2000-2007, as the owner and operator of 5 companies, and manager of several of my own investment properties, I decided to sell it all, lock, stock and barrel. I then jumped on my 45-foot sailboat, headed out of the harbor, and hung a left for the destination’s unknown, living the life others only dream of. My first year cruising I wrote Dreams, Goals and Adventure, a book to inspire others to Never Lose Sight of Their Dreams. My whole life I’ve turned any adversity or challenge into my very own life university, otherwise known as the school of hard knocks, and take those as valuable life’s lessons. As luck would have it, at the end of 2014, the beginning of 2015, life threw me another curve ball….. It was the break up and divorce from wife of 23 years. It was devastating… I remember Christmas Day, sitting in on a bench in the marina in Puerto Vallarta, looking out over the boats, just crying uncontrollably…. The healing process took years. I have always been a believer that things happen for a reason, although at that moment I certainly couldn’t understand why, but again, as luck would have it, it had brought me back to Mexico where I “accidentally” met Crystal Ra, and the beginning of a new chapter was created with many new adventures ahead. Now with my beautiful Estonian wife, Crystal Ra, we dedicate our lives to serving others around the world. As Founder & CEO of Helius Capital Investments, we partner with accredited investors while locating emerging markets that provide great investment opportunities, we effectively acquire and manage these properties until time to execute our predetermined exit strategies.
