Party Zone Revisited

partyzonerevisited

After a break of nearly four years, the Party Zone Revisited podcast returns to the world of MTV Europe, but this time the conversation goes far beyond dance music. Former VJs, music-industry insiders, writers and cultural figures revisit the people, programmes and moments that shaped MTV and ‘90s Europe, while also exploring what is happening in music and popular culture today. Every episode ends with Simone and her guest, who (potentially), have very different tastes trying to convince each other why their favourite music video, album, music-based book, art or movie pick matters. You don't have to like it. You just have to understand why they do.

Kirk Field - author of RAVE NEW WORLD

Kirk Field: Friendship, Rave Culture & Life Lessons Probably my most honest and revealing podcast to date. Kirk and I have been friends for over 30 years, and we reflect on the hedonistic 90s rave scene, the humbling lessons we learned working in tourism, and how those experiences made us better communicators and listeners. We talk about the positive side of ageing, why younger generations deserve the freedom and support to party and socialise, and what these last three decades of life have taught us about ourselves. Plus, Kirk discusses BICEP’s forthcoming album SLUG, while I explore Fontaines D.C.’s Dopamine Chamber. Thirty years of friendship, a lifetime of stories, and music that keeps us moving.

VJ Edition with Vanessa Warwick - Headbangers Ball

From metal to dance music, Vanessa Warwick and I may have come from very different musical worlds. But as we caught up, we discovered we’ve always had more in common than we realised: a deep love of music, and enormous gratitude for having been part of scenes that gave us so much. Different sounds. Different worlds. One shared passion. Sometimes music brings us closer than we ever imagined. Music licensed through Soundstripe. Code: WSA2UWEYHXBLBVGS
