    This reflection invites us to consider kingship at its best: not power for its own sake, but responsibility carried on behalf of others. Whether we think about monarchs, school leaders, parents, or students, Jesus’ words challenge us to see leadership as care rather than control. For young people, this teaching reframes what it means to be “first.” Service is not weakness; it takes courage to notice others, to help quietly, and to lead by example. For families and school communities, it raises deeper questions aboutculture: do we value status, or do we honour kindness, character, and faithful service? In serving classmates, neighbours, friends, and strangers, we reflect the way of Jesus — the Servant King. And in that quiet, faithful service, we discover what it truly means to lead.
