This podcast brings to light the stories behind Brighton Grammar's Old Boy Hall of Famers! In this series listeners will hear from a range of Old Boys who have gone on to excel in all different areas of life. We will hear about the failures, opportunities and highs and lows that have occurred in shaping each old boys career to where they are today.

    #005 A commitment to community with Peter Toms

    Peter Toms OAM has served as a teacher and staff member at Brighton Grammar for 57 years. The honorary Old Boy has influenced the lives of 1000s of students who have passed through the school. In this episode, we explore how Peter began a career in teaching, some highlights in BGS's history as well as the important work Peter is doing for charity that ultimately contributed to him being awarded an Order of Australia Medal.

    #004 Humility and perseverance with Will Pucovski

    In early 2021, Will Pucovski joined arguably Australia's most prestigious and well known sporting team when he received his baggy green cap and made his test cricket debut against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Will is a highly talented batsmen who has broken records at various U19 state cricket carnivals as well as being one of only 8 people to score a double century in shield cricket before the age of 21. Will's career has been challenged by injuries and head knocks that have come at unfortunate times, but as you'll hear in this podcast, Will has always found a way to see light at the end of the tunnel to ultimately become an Australian test cricketer.

    #001 Always looking at the bigger picture

    Most know him as the star Essendon footballer who quickly rose to fame, but behind the high profile lies a fiercely loyal family man with many tales to tell. Born in Canada and touted as Australia's next track star, Andy speaks to Brad about his love of BGS, the pressure that comes with professional sport and much more. In 2016, Andy McGraths life changed forever. The captain of school went from an everyday student to seeing his name splashed across news outlets throughout the country as his name was read out as the number one AFL draft pick for that year. In this episode, Andy takes us through the moment he found out he had been selected, but more importantly reveals his passions and inspirations outside of footy. Andy recalls many great stories from his time at BGS as well, making this episode filled with lots of humour, honesty and many learnings.

    As young people living in today's society, the biggest question we face as we leave school is what now? Welcome to a Ton of Stories. This podcast aims to bring to light the stories behind the successful men of bright and grammar. Each old boy that I'll be speaking with has endured a different path to success, with almost all of them facing hurdles and failures throughout their careers. Throughout the series, I will delve into the mistakes, opportunities and adventures our all boys have had that have ultimately shaped them into the men they are today. For our older, OBGS old boys, I hope this podcast serves as a platform for you to hear from your former classmates and for our younger old boys and current students.
