    Our guest is former Ontario child advocate Irwin Elman who discusses how the safety of at-risk children so often lies in the hands of bureaucrats and politicians who worry more about costs, "quick wins," and making it look like they know what they're doing. As Stephanie says, "It's not about a political viewpoint, it's about doing the right thing." Irwin stresses the importance of cooperation and not just focusing on children but listening to them.     In our first episode, we meet our hosts – Gabe and Stephanie – the co-founders of the non-profit organization, TeagansVoice.com. Teagan was their 8 year old daughter, who was murdered in 2014. Gabe and Stephanie share their family's story in hopes their experience can be transformed into lessons learned and best practices to prevent violence against children in the future.
