    Episode 7: Prof. Jasmyn Cooper and the HBCU Symphony

    In our 7th episode, we chat with Prof. Jasmyn Cooper of Wilberforce University and the HBCU Symphony.  The HBCU Symphony was founded by Dr. Sir William James Baptist in March 2023 as an ensemble and organization to support the advancement of music education, hands on practicum experience in the music industry, and funding efforts for students and music programs of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.     Episode 2: "Sing Her Name" Chatting with Rosalyn Story, Sister and Published Author!

    In our second episode, we chat with author and sister Rosalyn Story. and discuss her newest book “Sing Her Name”: a novel based on real life African American opera singer Siseretta Jones.  We also discuss her inspiring book on the history of African American singers in opera titled And So I Sing: African American Divas of Opera and Concert  which inspired the nationally broadcast PBS documentary Aida's Brothers and Sisters, about the history of African-Americans in opera.    A big thank you to Rosalyn Story for taking the time to chat with us about “Sing Her Name” as well as her other fascinating musical and literary projects.  Enjoy!     In episode 3, we chat with Jennifer Zerangue Mistretta, National Vice President Extension and Boulder Alumnae Chapter member, Colleen Christiansen about every reason why alumnae life is truly great and how to go about chartering a chapter in your area if there isn't a local chapter readily accessible.  We also chat about various leadership roles we have the opportunity of serving in-and believe us when we say that no leadership role is ever too small!
