    Ep. 102 The Red Tent

The Red Tent is Anita Diamant's New York Times Bestselling debut novel from 1997.  It is based on the Bible story of Dina, found in Genesis 34. It is highly recommended you read Genesis 34 prior to The Red Tent to get the background on who Dina is. In this episode, Dana and her guest co-host, Oni, discuss the differences between the Bible story and The Red Tent's version of Dina's story while answering some of the publisher's discussion questions found at the back of the book. Knit & Lit Podcast: Ep. 101: The Other Black Girl

Zakiya Dalila Harris made a firm footprint in 2021 with her NY Times Bestselling debut novel, The Other Black Girl. Reading this book was a whirlwind. This book takes you on a traditional trail of a  black female protagonist to an all-out heart-racing thriller without you even realizing it. In this first episode, Dana, our club founder, and her guest co-host, Mirlande, discuss Nella and Hazel working together as two black women in a predominantly white publishing firm, and the ups and downs Nella experiences as a result of "the other black girl."
