Chatting with Interesting People was influenced by the pandemic when I realised how important friendship is and wanting to share the stories of people. They show that everyone has an interesting story! I wanted to encourage my friends in their lives by exploring their stories and how they got to where they are now. I hope this encourages you to deepen your friendships and see what you can discover about them. It's possible to know someone for most of your life and still find out new things about them, so I hope that it also inspires you to share your experiences too.

    Chatting with Ibrahim Mohamed - Integration, Innovation and Inspiration

    Ibrahim arrived in the UK as a teenager.  He didn't speak a word of the language and didn't even know the letters of the English alphabet!   Steve talks to him about his life as an outsider to how he used his experiences to help others negotiate some of the complex systems in place for getting support.   Steve's own experiences have brought him together with Ibrahim at their local foodbank along with many others who want to help people get back on their feet.   This video covers all sorts of topics including isolation, benefit systems, housing and homelessness, asylum, disability and much more!  It might be a longer video than we often produce but we felt there was so much in there that was really good to know that we didn't feel like it should be edited further.  #chattingwithinterestingpeople #chattingwithibrahimmohamed

    This was recorded before Russia invaded Ukraine and became particularly relevant when Britain made an arrangement to send asylum seekers to Rwanda. It is from a longer episode on his life and how he became the man he is today, but it seemed important to put this section out before the rest of the chat.
