#65 - "The People Behind the Bottle: Mezcal, Memories & Meaning"(Featuring Guests: Letty and Robert from I.E. AGAVE CLUB) Part 2

In Part 2 of our conversation with Letty and Robert from I.E. Agave Club, the discussion moves beyond tasting notes and technical details and into something more personal: the memories, relationships, and people that give meaning to what’s in the glass. We talk about mezcal, different expressions, rare bottles, aging, and what makes certain pours stand out. But as the conversation unfolds, the real theme becomes connection. Why do certain bottles stay with us? Why do some drinks immediately remind us of a place, a person, or a moment in our lives? And why does the agave community mean so much more when it stops feeling transactional and starts feeling like familia? From stories about favorite bottles and meaningful pours to the people behind the brands and producers who make them possible, this episode is a reminder that sometimes the most memorable part of a great spirit isn’t the flavor. It’s the story attached to it. It’s who you shared it with. And sometimes, it’s the place it takes you back to. Join us for Part 2 of our sit-down with Letty and Robert as we talk mezcal, memories, community, and the people behind the bottle.

#64 - "Beyond Tequila: Sotol, Agave Culture & Building Community"(Featuring Guests: Letty and Robert from I.E. AGAVE CLUB) Part 1

What starts with a simple question about sotol turns into a much bigger conversation about how we learn to appreciate what’s in the glass and the people around it. In Part 1 of our conversation with Letty from Inland Empire Agave Club, we talk about the difference between tequila, mezcal, and sotol, how to properly nose and taste spirits, what beginners should actually focus on, and how curiosity can turn into a much deeper appreciation for agave culture. We also get into Letty’s story: how she went from attending tastings to building her own community in the Inland Empire, the challenges of starting from scratch, and why creating space for people, especially women who have historically gone underrecognized in the industry matters. It’s part education, part origin story, and a reminder that sometimes the best way to learn is simply to show up, ask questions, and be willing to dive in.

#63 - "Off the Clock: Meet Family Law Attorney Norma Hernandez" (Featuring Special Guest Joanna Corona)

The courtroom is serious but the woman behind the lawyer is real, funny, and with story. Today, we get to meet that Norma. 😄 In this episode, we kick back with Norma Hernandez, a family law attorney with 12+ years of experience fighting for families, but today, she’s officially off the clock. No legal briefs. No hearings. Just real stories, real laughs, and the journey that shaped the woman behind the title. ☕🎙️ Joining her is Joanna Corona, a returning guest, real estate agent, best friend, and co-host of their podcast The Real World of Joanna & Norma. For the first time, they’re together on Café con Leche y Piquete, and the energy is exactly what you'd expect: smart, funny, honest… and just a little bit spicy. 🌶️ (Yes, the bottle on the table is real. 😉) We talk about how Norma went from law school to launching her own practice, the cases that shaped her, the emotional weight of family law, and the balance between being a fierce attorney in court and a grounded, joyful human outside of it. Humor with a purpose, exactly the way we like it. Why this episode matters Behind every “professional title” is a person with a story, and in our community, those stories matter. 🫶 Even the people who help us through the hardest legal moments still laugh, stress, cry, mess up, heal, and grow just like the rest of us. Key Takeaways ✨ Lawyers are humans first, titles come second Success doesn’t erase the battles behind it Real friendships make the mission lighter ❤️ Helping people is heavy work, humor is necessary, not optional You don’t have to “turn off” your culture to be professional Community is built through connection, not perfection If this episode made you smile, think, or feel seen, share it with someone who’d vibe with it too. 🤝 And if you want more of Norma & Joanna together, follow their podcast The Real World of Joanna & Norma wherever you listen. 🎧 P.S. No shots were harmed in the making of this episode.
