    The Classmate Who Never Existed: The Pan Bowen Incident

    In 2013, three students entered an abandoned school dormitory in Tianjin after a shuttlecock landed inside. One of them, Pan Bowen, turned back to look for his keys and was never seen again. When the other two returned to school, almost nobody seemed to remember Pan at all, and the records they expected to find no longer appeared to contain him.     The Man-Monkey of Ranton: The Creature Beneath Bridge 39 | British Folklore

    In January 1879, a canal labourer travelling through rural Staffordshire claimed that a strange black creature with enormous white eyes leapt onto the back of his horse near a lonely canal bridge. When he tried to hit it with his whip, the lash supposedly passed straight through its body. The encounter became part of local folklore, and the creature would come to be known as the Man-Monkey of Ranton.
