    A Craigslist Sammy Davis Jr., a slimy, dying man-boy and an old mommy are all here for the... Rat Pack Rat Eddie Rouse gets hired by a mom to do his Sammy Davis Jr. act for her dying son. He turns out to be Steve Little and things get weird, but Rouse does do some singing to this poor, sweet, disgusting son. I love the late Eddie Rouse. I love the still alive Todd Rohal. So, for a birthday gift to myself, we watched this short film. It's filthy, grotesque, full of heart, shocks and hilarity. Basically, it seems to be, in fact, a Todd Rohal film.     A divorced Australian (Dennis Coard) leaves the city and comes home to his brother's (Frankie J. Holden) gas station. Gary (Ben Mendehlsohn), picks him up for the airport as he...Return Home.That's an incredibly boring synopsis for a movie that is a real gem. If you read that, you'd never watch it. And you couldn't anyways, unless you're in Australia. But? This movie is really beautiful and tender. The relationships are kind, the brotherly love is strong but unspoken. Gary is kind of a dufus, but he wants to be better. Again, this doesn't make it sound great, however, this is easily one of the best movies we've covered on this podcast. At about the halfway point, you realize the brother needs to move home and help with this gas station or it will go under and you are wildly excited for that decision to be made. We highly recommend this movie and maybe if you email Australia (just in general), you can talk them into streaming the remastered blue ray to the world.     Ben Mendelsohn - Loverboy (1989)

    16 year old Mick (Noah Taylor) gets forced to clean up the yard of his moms friend Sally (Gillian Jones). He'd rather be skateboarding in puddles or getting drunk with his buddies, but Sally's place is coated with weeds. After a sweaty day of yard work, Sally offers Mick some wine, they spend hours together doing kinda nothing (like teens!) and pretty soon they can't stop humping. Geoffrey Wright wrote and directed this three years before he freaked people out with "Romper Stomper". It's surprisingly great and tender and showcases the suburbs and the boredom of youth well. The relationship between Mick and Sally isn't quite as horrifying as you'd think, even if it's still an awful idea. Ben Mendelsohn plays part of Noah Taylor's posse of pals.Tune in! Party with us.
