    He Loves You Already (Ep.9)

For Episode 9, the roles are reversed. Riley Friend takes over the host chair and Deonte Streeter becomes the guest. From childhood theater and becoming a husband and father at a young age to filmmaking, ministry, burnout and eventually finding his way to Northminster, Deonte shares how creativity and ambition have shaped his life. But he also opens up about what happens when the things we're good at begin carrying more of our identity than they were ever meant to hold. This is a conversation about family, calling, creativity, sacrifice and learning to put things down. Most importantly, it's about discovering that God's love was never something we had to earn in the first place. He loves you already.

You Don't Need All The Answers (Ep.8)

After decades of following Jesus and more than 30 years of pastoral ministry, Greg Kennedy says he’s still only scratching the surface of who God is. In this conversation, Greg shares his journey to faith and what he’s learned about fear, trust, spiritual dryness, and continuing to grow after decades of following Jesus. We talk about why faith can be both incredibly simple and endlessly deep, and why knowing God isn’t something we’re supposed to finish.  If you’ve ever felt pressure to have God figured out, or wondered what to do when He feels distant, this conversation is for you. Find refuge. Be formed. Live sent.

What It Means To Be God's Child (Ep.7)

What does it mean to live like you’re truly God’s child? Jason Coleman’s story has taken him across countries, careers, difficult seasons, and eventually to Northminster. Along the way, God has been teaching him to let go of the pressure to prove himself and receive something much simpler: the grace & freedom to be His child.  In this conversation, we talk about grace, identity, purpose, hospitality, and learning that our worth was never meant to come from what we accomplish.

One Yes Can Change Everything (Ep.6)

Sometimes we spend so much time waiting for a big moment from God that we miss the small acts of obedience He’s already placed in front of us. In this episode of The Outpost Podcast, Riley Friend shares how a series of ordinary decisions shaped his life; from transferring colleges, to experiencing the Asbury Revival firsthand, to stepping into ministry at Northminster Church. Together, we talk about creativity, calling, and why God often works through simple faithfulness more than dramatic moments. If you’ve ever wondered whether the little things matter, this conversation is for you.

    The Heart of Hospitality (Ep.2)

Most people knew Trudy as the voice on the phone, the person behind the bulletin, or the one who somehow made every Sunday, memorial service, and special event run seamlessly. What most people didn’t see was why. After 16 years at Northminster Church, Trudy sits down to reflect on the experiences that shaped her—from growing up in California, to supporting her husband through filmmaking, to quietly becoming one of the people who helped hold a church together. This conversation reveals something deeper than organization or administration. It’s about hospitality. It’s about carrying the practical burdens so someone else can simply be present. Whether helping a grieving family navigate a memorial service, editing movie scripts behind the scenes, or making sure every detail is in place before a worship service begins, Trudy’s story reminds us that some of the most meaningful ministry happens where almost no one is looking. If you’ve ever wondered whether the small things matter, this conversation is for you. In this episode: • Why service is about people—not tasks • The surprising path that led Trudy to Northminster • Supporting dreams behind the scenes • The unseen work that makes ministry possible • What she’s looking forward to in retirement • The simple lesson she’s carrying into the next season of life Sometimes the greatest impact isn’t found in the spotlight—it’s found in making sure someone else never has to think about what’s happening behind it.
