Episode 415 - Is Sugar Addiction Real with Mike Collins

August 25, 2026 The Jōrni Podcast Episode 415 - Is Sugar Addiction Real with Mike Collins This episode contains adult subject matter and some listeners may be triggered by this content. Listener discretion is advised. We reflect on our relationship with sugar and how it shapes our daily lives. It might be one of the more difficult things we do, but reconsidering what we may have always taken for granted about sweetness and self-care could become the key to change. We navigate the surprising connections between sugar, emotional wellbeing, and the habits embedded in family traditions and might just find ourselves questioning the deeper behavioral patterns that lie beneath our daily choices. What could real freedom from sugar look and feel like? MIKE COLLINS Mike Collins believes sugar addiction is very real and not to be taken lightly. As a person in long-term recovery from substance use disorder for over forty years, he took a keen interest in what sugar was doing to him and his friends in early recovery. After much research and experimentation, he quit sugar with the help of amazing mentors. He then raised two children sugar-free from the womb to six years old, and as they grew, he rewrote the rules for sugar and kids in childhood. He takes his stewardship of SugarAddiction.com, SugarDetox.com, and QuitSugarSummit.com very seriously and aims to provide information and community for anyone wanting to curb or quit sugar. Hundreds of thousands have read his book The Last Resort Sugar Detox, and tens of thousands have completed his online 30-Day Sugar Freedom Challenge. Episode 412 - How Your Brain Shapes Stress with Dr. Amy Albright

August 14, 2026 The Jōrni Podcast Episode 412 - How Your Brain Shapes Stress with Dr. Amy Albright We explore the fascinating intersection of stress, the brain, and our innate capacity for transformation within all three. Our brains are so much more than just a physical organ and understanding this can empower us on both personal and collective levels. Thought-provoking questions about consciousness, the roots of stress, and the possibilities of neurofeedback therapy invite us to rethink what is possible for our wellbeing. While perspectives on joy, intuition, and the mysteries of how interconnected we really are may just spark curiosity about how much change we can create when we work with our own minds. DR. AMY ALBRIGHT Dr. Amy Albright is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, executive advisor, and co-founder of Holon — a rare synthesis of clinician, oracle, and strategist. Possibly the only practitioner in the world working simultaneously at the level of elite executive coaching, neurological architecture, and the human energetic field. Founders and leaders seek her out at the most consequential chapters of their lives. She works at the level of the system — seeing what others miss, moving what others can't touch, dissolving patterns that have resisted every prior approach and activating capacities her clients didn't know they had. At the heart of her practice is the Holon lab, where her team directly shapes neurological architecture using advanced EEG neurofeedback, in-depth brain mapping, and cutting-edge recovery technologies. What shifts in the field gets encoded in the brain. What changes in the brain reorganizes how a person perceives, responds, and leads. Transformation, in her world, is not a concept. It is trained, embodied, and built to last.
