The Prosecutors: Legal Briefs

Very surprised to hear you two so disgusted by the verdict for the Karen Read case. I happened to watch the trial (the second one) almost in its entirety. I went in with the bare minimum information, and sort of “decided” she probably hit him and didn’t know. But I’m shocked that if you followed the evidence such as the medical experts and the laughable ARCCA paint project, you are still so severe on the verdict? You’ve listed good points that some of the FKR followers acted like rabid nut jobs…but it was reported on both sides (see M. Proctors wife), but it doesn’t take away the physical evidence, the gross misconduct on the part of the investigators…I know you paid attention to those details and you’re experienced attorneys, so I’m surprised you weren’t compelled by the clear evidence about the dog bite, the loads of (circumstantial evidence) that strengthened reasonable doubt. I can admit if I hadn’t followed the trial I would probably feel differently, but I know you both have. But despite listening to your podcast coverage I’m so surprised/interested that you’re calling this a miscarriage of justice. I love the podcast especially the historical crimes and mysteries!

I really enjoy both Podcasts, but especially this one because of all the little nuances in the law that you highlight. I do have 2 quick questions. 1. What is the differences between Parol and Probation 2. Do the Feds still have the 3 strike rule, and if so what is it and how it is applied.

I absolutely love The Prosecutors Podcast. As an elected County Clerk who works inside the court system every day, I find the show not only incredibly informative but also genuinely relatable and enjoyable. Between Legal Briefs and The Prosecutors Podcast, I have learned so much about legal theory, case strategy, and the real-world dynamics of how cases move through the system. It’s rare to find legal content that is both intellectually engaging and entertaining, but this show consistently delivers both. I especially appreciate the thoughtful analysis, the respectful tone toward the justice system, and the way complex legal issues are explained in a way that makes sense to both legal professionals and everyday listeners. It honestly makes me feel more connected to the broader legal community and reminds me why I love being part of this work. Thank you for the time, research, and passion you put into every episode — it truly shows. This is hands-down one of my favorite podcasts.
