    Taylor's Year

    Taylor Swift is ending her year with another accolade: The pop superstar was named Time magazine’s 2023 “Person of the Year,” beating out Barbie and King Charles III. “While her popularity has grown across the decades, this is the year that Swift, 33, achieved a kind of nuclear fusion: shooting art and commerce together to release an energy of historic force,” the magazine said. Rihanna and Drake’s sultry “What’s My Name?” music video has officially reached one billion YouTube views, 13 years since its release in 2010. In the clip, the rumored ex-couple gets cozy in a convenience store, before cuddling up in a New York apartment, drinking wine, holding hands and even having a little pillow fight. RiRi and Drake’s collaboration topped the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart upon its 2010 release, and also hit No. 1 on Digital Songs. Over the years, the two R&B powerhouses have collaborated a number of times on songs like 2016’s “Too Good,” 2016’s “Work” and 2011’s “Take Care.” Rhyme scheme is the pattern of rhyme that comes at the end of each verse or line in poetry. In other words, it is the structure of end words of a verse or line that a poet needs to create when writing a poem. Many poems are written in free verse style. Some other poems follow non-rhyming structures, paying attention only to the number of syllables. The Japanese genre of Haiku is a case in point. Thus, it shows that the poets write poems in a specific type of rhyme scheme or rhyming pattern.

    Processing what happened to Take-off (RIP)

    Takeoff has reportedly been killed in a shooting in Houston, Texas. According to TMZ, the Migos rapper (real name Kirshnik Khari Ball) was gunned down at 810 Billiards and Bowling in downtown Houston in the early hours of Tuesday (November 1). He was 28 years old. Takeoff and Quavo were partaking in a dice game when an altercation broke out and shots were fired, striking Takeoff “either in the head or near to his head.” Despite initial rumors suggesting he was also shot, Quavo was not injured. On Friday (November 4), multiple videos of an intimate candle-lighting ceremony began circulating online. In the short clip, the deceased Migos rapper’s loved ones congregate around each other as they chant TakeOff’s name and release a set of balloons spelling out his stage name high into the sky. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner was determined to defend the Hip Hop community following his death. While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Finner addressed Hip Hop getting a bad reputation and revealed he wants to meet with local rappers to discuss gun violence in the city. He also paid tribute to Takeoff, explaining how everyone had good things to say about the late Migos rapper as a person and musician.     Artist Spotlight Jam Master Jay

    Jason William Mizell (January 21, 1965 – October 30, 2002), better known by his stage name Jam Master Jay, was an American musician and DJ. He was the DJ of the influential hip hop group Run-DMC. During the 1980s, Run-DMC became one of the biggest hip hop groups and are credited with breaking hip hop into mainstream music Jason Mizell was born in Brooklyn, New York City,[3] the son of Jesse Mizell and Connie Thompson Mizell[4] (later Connie Mizell-Perry)[5] whose other children are Marvin L. Thompson and Bonita Jones.[4]  At age three, Jason began playing trumpet. He learned to play bass, guitar, and drums.
