Where Art and Grief Meet

Sophia Cosmas

Where Art & Grief Meet is an exploration of the space where the creative spirit mingles with grief, loss and adversity. Sophia, a compulsive artist who has experienced her own fair share of adversity and grief, talks with a range of notable and passionate creatives (visual, writers, musicians, entrepreneurs) to reflect and share observations and responses to the question of how their art practice is impacted by the slings and arrows of a life, acknowledging of course that grief comes in an infinite number of shapes and forms: personal and global and everything in between. There is no hierarchy of grief here. Loss, in this context, is viewed as an inevitable part of life and a prism through which we explore artistic practice and expression. Sophia is interested in building a space where creatives can openly discuss their observations, their stories and the resulting strategies in order to alleviate isolation, make broader connections and create a supportive community.
