    Invest Faithfully and Productively

This powerful lesson on investing faithfully challenges us to rethink what it means to be stewards of God's resources. At the heart of this teaching is Jesus's Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25, which reveals a profound truth: God has entrusted each of us with gifts, abilities, time, and resources—not for our own glory, but to advance His kingdom. The faithful servants who doubled their master's money weren't praised for the amount they earned, but for their faithfulness in putting what they had to work. This distinction is crucial. Whether we've been given five talents or two, the reward is the same: 'Well done, good and faithful servant.' What matters isn't the size of our portfolio or the impressiveness of our career, but whether we're investing everything—our vocations, our families, our daily work—into eternal purposes. The wicked servant's failure wasn't just laziness; it was fear masquerading as caution. How often do we bury our talents in the ground, afraid of failure or rejection, when God is calling us to step out in faith? This lesson also beautifully connects to Proverbs 13:22, reminding us that a good person leaves an inheritance to their children's children—but that inheritance isn't just money. It's faith, wisdom, character, and a legacy of kingdom investment. When we think eternally, our priorities shift from accumulation to multiplication for God's glory. Key Points: All resources—time, talents, gifts, and money—belong to God; we are merely stewards entrusted with His possessionsFaithful stewardship is more important than the size of the return; both the five-talent and two-talent servants received the same commendationInvestment should be strategic and kingdom-minded, asking "What can I do today that will impact my children's children?"Leaving an inheritance includes both positive legacies (faith, wisdom, financial security) and negative ones (debt, sin patterns)Fear and laziness are closely connected and prevent faithful stewardshipAny vocation can glorify God when done faithfully—work doesn't need to be "ministry" to honor ChristPractical financial wisdom includes using employer 401k matches, obtaining life insurance to protect family from debt, and avoiding accumulation of debt that burdens loved onesThe eternal perspective should shape present investments—focus on what will matter in eternity rather than temporary wealth accumulationReligion becomes dry when reduced to mere ritual; true faith involves active trust and obedience to GodScripture Reference: Matthew 25:14-30 (Parable of the Talents)Proverbs 13:22 ("A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous")1 Chronicles (reference to inheritance in the Promised Land)Colossians 3:23 (Working unto God, not unto man)Ephesians 6:4 (Raising children in the nurture and discipline of the Lord)Romans 1 (Natural knowledge of God and moral accountability) Support Brian Sauvé here: https://www.briansauve.com/even-dragons-shall-him-praise Support the show Help Support Our Podcast and Projects Here

Spending Wisely: A Kingdom Approach to Financial Stewardship

This powerful lesson on financial discipleship challenges us to examine the heart behind our spending habits. Drawing from Proverbs and the teachings of Jesus, we're reminded that spending wisely isn't just about budgeting—it's about recognizing that God owns everything we have. The scripture emphasizes that 'the plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty' (Proverbs 21:5). This isn't merely financial advice; it's spiritual wisdom that calls us to slow down, count the cost, and think generationally rather than impulsively. The lesson beautifully connects Jesus's teaching about counting the cost before building a tower to our everyday financial decisions. When we understand that we're stewards rather than owners, our entire perspective shifts. We're no longer driven by comparison or the need to 'keep up' with others, but by contentment in Christ. The practical tool of a zero-balance budget becomes more than a spreadsheet—it becomes a spiritual discipline that trains us in faithfulness with what God has entrusted to us. This wisdom applies not just to money, but to how we spend our time, talents, and energy, all for God's glory. Meet with Aswand:  https://calendly.com/moveswiftly44/new-meeting?month=2026-04 Key Points: God owns everything; we are merely stewards of His resourcesSpending wisely is a spiritual discipline that reflects our relationship with GodThe number one cause of debt in America is medical expenses, highlighting the need for emergency savingsA zero-balance budget is a tool of stewardship that glorifies Christ by preventing waste and enabling generosityHasty financial decisions lead to poverty, while diligent planning leads to plentyCount the cost before beginning any financial endeavor, just as one would before building a towerLiving within your means requires distinguishing between needs and wantsTithing (giving) should come first, followed by saving, then spendingThink generationally - consider leaving an inheritance to your children's childrenThe love of money, not money itself, is the root of evilWealthy individuals often live off only 30% of their income, demonstrating wise stewardshipFinancial wisdom comes from being steeped in God's Word and accepting correctionA paid-off house provides financial freedom and securityCouples should work together on budgeting and financial planningScripture Reference: Proverbs 3:9 - "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops"Hebrews 13:5 - "Let your conduct be without covetousness. Be content with such things as you have"Proverbs 21 - "The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty"Proverbs 21:20 - "The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down"Luke 14:28 - "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost"Proverbs 22:7 - "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender"1 Timothy 6:10 - "For the love of money is the root of all evil"Proverbs 9:10 - "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom"Proverbs 27:23 - "Be sure you know the condition of your flocks"1 Corinthians 10:31 - "Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God"Support Brian Sauvé here: https://www.briansauve.com/even-dragons-shall-him-praise Support the show Help Support Our Podcast and Projects Here

Give First and Generously – Worshiping Christ Through Cheerful Generosity

This powerful exploration of biblical stewardship challenges us to fundamentally rethink our relationship with money and material blessings. At its heart lies a simple yet profound principle: giving before receiving. We discover that this isn't merely a religious obligation, but a cosmic truth woven into the very fabric of creation itself. From Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek in Genesis 14, through the Mosaic law, Solomon's wisdom in Proverbs 3:9-10, and Malachi's direct challenge to bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, Scripture consistently teaches that our first response to God's blessing should be gratitude expressed through giving. What makes this message so transformative is the recognition that we're not actually giving away 'our' money—we're acknowledging that everything belongs to God in the first place. He is the creator, sustainer, and redeemer. Every breath we take, every dollar we earn, every opportunity we receive flows from His gracious hand. When we tithe, we're not paying God back; we're declaring our trust that He, not our bank account, is our true source of security. This shift from scarcity thinking to abundance mindset liberates us from the crushing weight of trying to be our own god, our own provider, our own savior. The journey isn't easy—it requires inner work, faith development, and the courage to let go of control—but it opens the door to experiencing God's faithfulness in ways we never imagined possible. Key Points: Tithing is a pre-law principle established by Abraham before Moses, demonstrating it's rooted in covenant relationship rather than legalistic obligationThe principle of "giving before getting" is woven throughout creation itself and applies to all areas of life including relationships, fitness, and financesTeaching children early about giving, saving, and spending wisely establishes a healthy relationship with money as a tool rather than an idolTithing removes the burden of trying to be God in our own lives by acknowledging Him as the ultimate provider and sustainerThe love of money, not money itself, is the root of evil; proper stewardship glorifies GodGiving should flow from a grateful heart recognizing God's blessings, not from leftovers or obligationJesus affirmed tithing while emphasizing that the heart attitude matters more than mechanical complianceCommon grace allows even secular successful people to understand and benefit from the principle of giving before receivingWhen we give faithfully, God provides ideas, connections, and opportunities beyond just financial returnTithing to a local church supports kingdom expansion and pastoral care for the congregationScripture Reference: Genesis 14 - Abraham's tithe to MelchizedekGenesis 28 - Jacob's vow at BethelLeviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy - Mosaic law on tithingProverbs 3:9-10 - Honor the Lord with the firstfruits of your wealthMalachi 3:8-10 - Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse; test God in thisMatthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42 - Jesus rebukes Pharisees for tithing without justice, mercy, and faithfulnessMatthew 28:18-20 - Jesus' authority over heaven and earth2 Corinthians 9:6-7 - Whoever sows sparingly reaps sparingly; God loves a cheerful giverActs 2, 4, 11 - Early church practices of generosityReferences to widow's offering and ZacchaeusSupport Brian Sauvé here: https://www.briansauve.com/even-dragons-shall-him-praise Support the show Help Support Our Podcast and Projects Here

Recognize God Owns It All - A Financial Discipleship Lesson with Aswand Cruickshank and Aaron Guyett

Recognize God Owns It All – We Are Stewards by Faith in Our Triune God Everything belongs to God; we are simply stewards of His resources. Faith in the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ frees us from the illusion of ownership and calls us to handle money in a way that glorifies the One who gave us life and salvation.  Because God has created us, sustains us in being, and has chosen to redeem us by His grace, we must faithfully pursue His commands in our wise stewardship of His financial blessings. Key verses: Psalm 24:1 - The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, The world, and those who live in it. 1 Chronicles 29:11-12 - Yours, Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and on the earth; Yours is the dominion, Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. Matthew 25:14-30 (Parable of the Talents) - 14 “For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. 15 To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey. 16 The one who had received the five talents immediately went and did business with them, and earned five more talents. 17 In the same way the one who had received the two talents earned two more. 18 But he who received the one talent went away and dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money. 19 “Now after a long time the master of those slaves *came and *settled accounts with them. 20 The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have earned five more talents.’ 21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’ 22 “Also the one who had received the two talents came up and said, ‘Master, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have earned two more talents.’ 23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’ 24 “Now the one who had received the one talent also came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed. 25 And I was afraid, so I went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you still have what is yours.’ 26 “But his master answered and said to him, ‘You worthless, lazy slave! Did you know that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter seed? 27 Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. 28 Therefore: take the talent away from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’ 29 “For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. 30 And throw the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Application: Count the blessings of the Lord in your life: Pray that the Lord of heaven and eart Support Brian Sauvé here: https://www.briansauve.com/even-dragons-shall-him-praise Support the show Help Support Our Podcast and Projects Here
