003 - WALK WITH ME - When Life Feels Overwhelming

Welcome to Walk With Me a subset of the Live In Joy podcast where I share unfiltered thoughts recorded while I'm out walking. Today I recognized that I process thoughts and emotions and have some of my very best ideas while I'm out walking. And by the time I get home with my mic, they're gone. So here we are... No script. Just honest thoughts from whatever is on my heart in that moment. If you're out for a walk too... I'm so glad you're here. In today's episode I share: Why it's okay to start over when life feels messy or your routines have fallen apart. Two simple ways to calm overwhelm: move your body and give yourself just 10 focused minutes. Learning to trust the quiet nudges, gentle reminders, and unexpected moments that remind us we're exactly where we need to be. If today's conversation encouraged you, I'd love for you to share it with a friend who might need the reminder that she doesn't have to have it all together. Thanks for walking with me today. Sharing your voice. Even when it shakes.

Sometimes the hardest thing isn't knowing what to say... it's finding the courage to say it before you feel ready. In this episode, I share what happened after recording my first podcast in years, why I've spent months in a quiet season, and how learning to trust my heart is slowly leading me back to joy. . 1. Trust your heart, even when it whispers. Your heart rarely shouts at first, it nudges, whispers, and gently invites you to slow down. The more we learn to listen before we're forced to, the more we build trust with ourselves and create space for healing, peace, and joy. 2. Your voice matters, even when it shakes. You don't have to feel completely confident before sharing your gifts with the world. Sometimes the most meaningful words are spoken while we're still finding our footing, and that's often where the deepest connection happens. 3. Joy isn't something to chase... it's something we can gently allow ourselves to find. When we stop constantly pushing and striving, we create room to notice the beauty that's already around us. Joy often returns quietly, in the ordinary moments, when we finally give ourselves permission to slow down and simply be. Thanks for being here! You can find me @nikiflynn on Instagram. The Pink Duck - Choose JOY. Choose kindness

Sometimes the smallest moments leave the biggest imprint on our hearts. In this episode, I share the story of a tiny pink duck left on my Jeep, a painful memory it unexpectedly brought back, and the reminder that every single day we get to choose the kind of impact we'll have on the people around us. You never know what someone else is carrying. A simple act of kindness can mean more than you'll ever realize. Before we judge, react, or assume, we can choose grace, remembering that everyone is walking through something we may never see. The only power we truly have is the power to choose. We can't control how other people behave, but we can always choose how we respond, how we show up, and the kind of energy we bring into the world each day. Small acts create lasting ripple effects. A tiny pink duck. A smile at a stranger. A few kind words. The smallest gestures often become the moments people remember for years, reminding us that kindness is never wasted. Thanks for being here! EP 40: Emotions & Holding Space for Them

In this episode we talk about emotions, how to hold space and not stuff them down. How honoring our emotions allows them to move through us, and not get stuck within our bodies. We touched on: 1) How often we have been told to 'quit our crying or I'll give you something to cry about' and many of us have learned to stuff our emotions and not feel them. 2) Things that come up that trigger us, are there to teach us a lesson, and can be a mirror for our own healing. It is a gift to lean into it and heal from it. Generally things have nothing to do with the person, but our own things that we get to process through. 3) 'Weakness' has been taught or ingrained in us… but we are not 'weak' if we share emotion. We are actually so strong when we can process our emotion and hold space for it. 4) Dis-ease is caused by stuck emotion. We talk about different places that emotions get stuck, and what the dis-ease is that is related to that stuck emotion. EP 39: Hiding

In this episode we talk about how often in life we hide from things because of our own beliefs about ourselves. And how the light that we see in others, is within us as well… and we need to shine it, and share our gifts with the world. We touched on: 1) How our bodies will physically manifest our beliefs about ourselves if we are not paying attention to them. For example, acne if we fear being seen, or getting sick before travelling if we feel we don't belong. None of this is conscious thought. 2) When someone sees the light in you, honour it. Shine it. Show it. And do not hide. When fear comes up, listen, but remember that Paradise is on the other side of Fear. And then do it. 3) Trust your inner knowing. If you are a sacral generator by human design for example, trust that gut instinct when you are faced with a decision. Your inner knowing, knows. And again, stop hiding. The world needs your gifts! Ep38: Be With Those Who Are Cheering For You

In this episode we talk about how important it is to have people in your life that are not only there with you but cheering for you. They want the best for you, and want to see you succeed. Choose people who uplift and inspire you to be your best self. Respect your boundaries and support your growth, bring joy to your life, support you through it all, are kind, compassionate, and empathetic, and who encourage you to pursue your passions and dreams. We touched on: 1) Sometimes people who are in your circle are not in your corner, and how we can put on masks, or shift who we are to be around them. How we can modify who we are slightly, to be able to fit in, or not have our opinions be too strong. 2) We encourage you to take a look at the people you are around and see if they are indeed people who are cheering for you, or bring you down. It's okay to have boundaries for your own inner peace. 3) Celebrating people who are around you. Cheer for each other. When we rise we lift others. Ep 37: Farmyard Stories - Chicken Edition

In this episode we have a little fun conversation about chickens, getting them, caring for them, and bringing them home unannounced. Surprise chickens! We touched on: 1) Niki's recent trip to get 5 dozen eggs from a friend, which turned into 5 dozen eggs, and 10 chickens in the back of her Honda Pilot. 2) A story about eagles, and chickens and how they do not mix… (and a little story about how 10 turned into 9) but Niki was quickly reminded about the circle of life. 3) We talk about eggs, and the difference between store bought eggs, vs farm raised free range eggs. EP 36: Vision & Looking Toward The Future

In this episode we talk about how we look toward the future, and make plans and goals, but often the best things in our lives we could not have ever imagined. We touched on: 1) Jenna just spoke at an event that she was invited to speak and, and we talked about how even 5 years ago, that may not even have been on her radar. And how for both of us, Young Living came into our lives and changed it in the very best way, and that's how we met. Neither of us could have ever imagined how that kit would have changed our lives. 2) How some of the biggest blessings in our lives, are things that we would have never imagined. But when we follow the way we want to feel, we create opportunities for beautiful things. Choosing how we want to feel. 3) Crafting a vision can be tricky if we try to plan out all the details. But what we can do instead is say "this or something better" 4) We encourage our listeners to sit and write out their vision for the future.
