When Good Things Become Distractions From God Things | Faith, Purpose & Discernment

Have you ever considered that some of the things distracting you from God's purpose aren't necessarily bad things? Sometimes they're good things. Things you've prayed for, worked hard to build, or committed yourself to because you genuinely wanted to help others. But what happens when those good things begin competing with what God is calling you to prioritize in your current season? On this episode of Unblocking Your Purpose, Jada Hartfield explores the importance of spiritual discernment, recognizing changing seasons, and learning when to hold on, make adjustments, or release commitments that no longer align with your God-given priorities. Continuing October's series, Making Room for What Matters to God, this conversation challenges Christian women to examine how they're stewarding their time, gifts, and opportunities—not simply to become less busy, but to become more intentional about following God's direction. In this episode, you'll discover: Why not every good opportunity is necessarily your assignment. How to recognize when a commitment may no longer fit your current season. The difference between opportunity and spiritual discernment. Why boundaries can be an act of stewardship rather than selfishness. How making room for God can help you grow in faith and become more intentional about serving others.Scripture References: Hebrews 12:1–2 (NLT) — Running with endurance and keeping our eyes on Jesus.James 1:5 (NLT) — Asking God for wisdom.Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT) — Recognizing life's seasons. This Week's Faith Challenge: The Good Things Audit Take a few moments to reflect on one commitment in your life and ask yourself: Why did I originally say yes to this?Does this commitment still fit my current season? What would faithfulness look like here—continuing, adjusting, delegating, or releasing it?Bring those questions before God in prayer and ask Him for wisdom as you evaluate your priorities. Remember, your purpose isn't about doing everything. It's about faithfully stewarding what God has entrusted to you. Are You Busy or Being Faithful? | Finding God's Purpose Beyond Your To-Do List

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself whether you're simply staying busy or truly being faithful to what God has called you to do? As women, we wear so many hats—mother, wife, professional, caregiver, leader, and friend. But somewhere between managing responsibilities and meeting expectations, we can lose sight of a deeper question: Are we using the gifts, talents, and opportunities God has entrusted to us for His purpose? On this episode of Unblocking Your Purpose, Jada Hartfield shares a personal conversation with her brother that challenged her to examine whether she's approaching her podcast and platforms as a ministry of discipleship. Through the biblical story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38–42, we explore the difference between being busy and being faithful, the importance of spiritual discernment, and how to create space for God's direction. In this episode, you'll discover: Why being busy doesn't always mean you're walking in your God-given purpose. How to recognize when good things are distracting you from what matters most. Why your gifts and talents are meant to serve a purpose beyond yourself. How boundaries can help you become more intentional with your time and calling. Why growing in your relationship with Christ can create opportunities to disciple and encourage others.Scripture References: Luke 10:38–42 — Mary and MarthaEphesians 2:10 — Created for good works2 Timothy 2:2 — The multiplication of discipleshipYour Reflection Challenge: Spend 15 intentional minutes with God this week. Ask Him: "Am I simply filling my days, or am I faithfully using what You've entrusted to me?" Remember, your purpose doesn't end with you. God can use your growth, experiences, and gifts to impact someone else's life. You Keep Saying You Want It… But Are You Making Room for It? | Creating Capacity for What’s Next

You’ve prayed for it. You’ve written the goal down. You keep saying you want something different. But sis… have you actually made room for it? In this episode of Unblocking Your Purpose, Certified Life & Success Coach Jada Hartfield closes out our September conversation about alignment, priorities, intentional living, and purpose by asking an important question: Do you actually have the capacity for the thing you keep saying you want? Because wanting something and having room for it are two different things. We can pray for growth, ask God for new opportunities, set goals, and dream about what’s next while our lives are already operating at full capacity. And sometimes moving forward isn’t about adding another task to the calendar. Sometimes expansion begins with subtraction. In this episode, we’re talking about: • The difference between desire and capacity • Why every “yes” needs somewhere to live • How a lack of capacity can turn exciting goals into another source of guilt • Why making room may require releasing something first • The difference between time capacity and emotional, mental, financial, relational, and spiritual capacity • How boundaries can help protect the space you’re creating • Preparing your life for the things you’ve been praying for • Taking one intentional step toward the woman you’re becoming We’ll also revisit last week’s quick check-in and what it looked like for me to recognize that although I could push through, I didn't have the capacity to give a full episode what I wanted to give it. Sometimes living in alignment means choosing less. As we close September, I want you to consider: If the thing you’ve been asking for showed up tomorrow, have you made room for it? You don't have to overhaul your entire life this week. Release one thing. Protect one block of time. Establish one boundary. Take one step that says: “I’m preparing for where I’m going—not just maintaining where I’ve been.” Don't just pray for what's next, sis. Start making room for it. 🎙️ Unblocking Your Purpose is a weekly podcast for women navigating faith, motherhood, identity, purpose, boundaries, burnout, rest, intentional living, personal growth, and redefining success. A Quick Check-In: Practicing What I Preach

This week on Unblocking Your Purpose looks a little different. I had an entire episode planned about capacity, making room, and creating space for the things we're asking God to grow—but when it was time to record, I realized I needed to practice what I've been talking about. Sometimes intentional living, healthy boundaries, rest, and alignment don't look like squeezing more into an already full schedule. Sometimes the aligned decision is recognizing that you could push through—but choosing not to operate from depletion. So instead of a full episode, this is a quick, honest check-in about rest, purpose, priorities, capacity, and giving yourself permission to choose less. And maybe that's the reminder you need this week, too. Reflection question: Where might choosing less actually be the more aligned choice for me this week? Next Monday, we'll continue our September conversation with an episode about creating capacity, making room for your goals and purpose, and preparing for the things you're asking God to grow. 🎙️ Unblocking Your Purpose is a podcast for women navigating faith, motherhood, identity, purpose, boundaries, burnout, rest, intentional living, and redefining success. Your Calendar Is Telling on You: Are Your Priorities Aligned With Your Time?

“Your calendar doesn’t have to be perfect—but it should tell a story you actually want to live.” Your priorities aren’t only what you say matters. Eventually, they show up in how you spend your time. Sis, we say our faith matters. Our family matters. Our marriage matters. Our health matters. Our purpose and dreams matter. And yes—we matter too. But if you looked at how you spent the last seven days, would your calendar tell the same story? In this episode of Unblocking Your Purpose, Certified Life & Success Coach Jada Hartfield is talking about priorities, intentional living, time management, and creating a life that actually aligns with what you value most. This isn’t about becoming more productive, squeezing more into your day, or feeling guilty because your schedule is full. Busy seasons are real. Motherhood, work, caregiving, ministry, marriage, school schedules, and family responsibilities can legitimately require more from us. This conversation is about alignment—not shame. Your calendar isn't evidence that you're a good or bad woman. It's information. In this episode, we’ll talk about: • Comparing what you say matters with where your time actually goes • Recognizing where you’re spending time by default instead of by decision • The “leftovers problem” that keeps women putting themselves, their health, prayer, purpose, and dreams last • Creating simple anchors instead of trying to build a perfect schedule • Protecting time for the things that matter without becoming rigid • Making room for the goals and dreams you keep saying you want • Building a life that reflects your faith, values, priorities, and purpose You’ll also walk through a simple calendar reflection to help you identify what matters most in this season, where those priorities showed up during the last seven days, and one small block of time you can protect moving forward. Because intentional living isn't about having a perfectly organized life. It's about making sure the things you value aren't constantly crowded out by whatever screams the loudest. 🎙️ Unblocking Your Purpose is a weekly podcast for women navigating faith, motherhood, identity, purpose, boundaries, burnout, personal growth, and redefining success. Stop Waiting for Your Life to Feel Different | Faith, Intentional Living & Taking Action

Have you been praying for your life to change while waiting for the perfect circumstances to finally make your move? Maybe you're waiting for your schedule to calm down. For someone else to change. For more money, more confidence, more clarity—or for God to give you a sign so obvious you can't possibly miss it. But sis… what if part of the change you've been praying for begins with a choice that is already yours to make? In this episode of Unblocking Your Purpose, we're kicking off September with a conversation about faith, personal responsibility, and intentionally participating in the life God has given you. We're talking about: • Recognizing what is—and isn't—within your control • Why trusting God doesn't mean becoming passive • The danger of making your next move dependent on someone else changing • How small, intentional choices can change the direction of your life • Asking God, “What is my part in this?” • Taking the next faithful step even when you can't control the outcome We'll also look at James 1:22 and Proverbs 3:5–6 as reminders that faith isn't just about what we hear or believe—it's also reflected in how we respond. You don't have to control everything to take responsibility for something. You don't need every answer. And you don't have to wait until your entire life changes before you start making different choices. Sometimes different begins with one decision. 💕 Continue the Journey ✨ Join my Facebook community for encouragement, connection, and conversations about becoming the woman God created you to be. ✨ Grab your Reclaiming Your Identity Journal and create space to reconnect with yourself, your purpose, and the woman you're becoming. ✨ Subscribe to Unblocking Your Purpose for new episodes every Monday.

You Don’t Have to Have It All Together to Move Forward | Faith, Purpose & Starting Again

Do you ever feel like you need to get your whole life together before you can finally move forward? The routine needs to be perfect. The schedule needs to settle down. The kids need to get situated. You need more clarity, more confidence, or a better plan. But sis… what if God isn’t asking you to have everything figured out? What if He’s simply asking you to take the next faithful step? In this episode of Unblocking Your Purpose, we’re closing out August with a reminder for every woman who feels like she’s still adjusting, still figuring things out, or even a little behind. We’re talking about: • Giving yourself grace during seasons of transition • Why you don’t need the perfect routine to move forward • Learning to focus on the next faithful step instead of the entire plan • Recognizing progress that doesn’t show up on a checklist • Deciding what you want—and don’t want—to carry into September • Trusting God when you can’t see the entire path ahead We’ll also reflect on Proverbs 16:9 and Psalm 119:105 and what they teach us about making plans while allowing God to direct our steps. You do not need a flawless plan for September. You don’t need to reinvent yourself. And you certainly don’t need to have it all together. You just need enough faith to take the next step. 💕 Continue the Journey ✨ Join my Facebook community for encouragement, connection, and conversations about becoming the woman God created you to be. ✨ Grab your Reclaiming Your Identity Journal and give yourself space to reflect, reconnect, and intentionally show up for yourself. ✨ Subscribe to Unblocking Your Purpose for new episodes every Monday. The Woman You're Becoming | Let Go of Your Old Identity & Embrace Who God Created You to Be

Sis… When was the last time you stopped focusing on how far you still have to go and recognized how far you've already come? We're often so focused on the next goal, the next accomplishment, or the next version of our lives that we overlook one of the most important parts of the journey: Who we're becoming along the way. In Episode 31 of Unblocking Your Purpose, we're closing out our Living On Purpose series with a conversation about identity, personal growth, faith, and giving yourself permission to outgrow old versions of yourself. Maybe you're setting boundaries you couldn't set before. Maybe you're learning to rest without guilt. Maybe you're responding differently, trusting God more, speaking up for yourself, or finally recognizing patterns that once kept you stuck. Sis, that counts. Not all growth can be measured by accomplishments. Sometimes the greatest evidence of transformation is simply realizing: I'm not the same woman anymore. ✨ In this episode, you'll discover: • How to recognize growth that doesn't show up on a checklist. • Why you're allowed to outgrow old versions of yourself. • How to navigate the discomfort that comes with personal growth. • What to do when other people don't understand the new you. • How your daily choices shape the woman you're becoming. • Why purpose isn't only about what God does through you—but also what He's doing in you. 📖 Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) "Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" This week, ask yourself: Who am I becoming? Not just, "What am I accomplishing?" Not, "How much am I producing?" But who am I becoming as I walk with God through this season? Sis, you don't have to despise the woman you used to be in order to celebrate the woman you're becoming. Honor her. Learn from her. Thank God for bringing her through. And then give yourself permission to keep growing. 💕 Continue the Journey ✨ Join my Facebook community: https://www.facebook.com/share/1A8Kh1bRQa/?mibextid=wwXIfr ✨ Grab your Reclaiming Your Identity Journal: https://payhip.com/b/v2V1R ✨ Subscribe for new episodes every Monday.
