    8. Why don’t I have many friends anymore: normalise outgrowing friendships in your 20s

Podcast episode summary points Why don’t I have many friends anymore: normalise outgrowing friendships in your 20s Common occurrence that happens  Don't take them personally How to cope with this feeling of sadness/ loneliness Readjusting to the feeling of not being obsessed with chaos/ drama Realising you can only do so much as a good friend, how someone else chooses to view your intentions/ actions isn’t within your control Just because you have lost quite a few friends from the past, it doesn’t necessarily mean its a you problem. Think back to the times when someone mentioned that the person wasn’t so great for you. Change the way you view it. As you become more securely attached, the people who have more insecure attachments feel threatened by how eloquently you portray your boundaries/ communicate and they can’t keep up with it so they do what they know best and its either protest behaviour or avoidance behaviour in the form of an abandonment wound/ leaving you first before they’re left Its a positive sign if you no longer have many people around because it means you’re enduring a steep growth Don't beat yourself up for giving them multiple chances. It just shows that you have pure intentions and a genuine heart and that they weren’t able to reciprocate or match that level of maturity. learn from this and figure out who is worth investing your energy in. Forgive yourself for wearing your heart on your sleeve- it is both a blessing and a curse but know how to skew it so it works in your favour. Take a social media detox if you must and stop seeing other people’s glorified versions of their lives. Going forward, don’t block yourself off to new opportunities because usually when one door closes, many more are waiting to be opened. The Universe is always going to replace what’s been lost with something even better than you imagined or ever had. Trust in the process because good things and new friendships await those who have faith that things are happening for them rather than to them.
