    Welcome to episode 6 of Bede & Steve Vs. Leatherface, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz explore the films of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. After the box-office success and postitive fan reception of their 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Michael Bay and his producing partners at Platinum Dunes started to get the ball rolling and make a follow-up to it. However, instead of taking the sequel route, they decided to go make a prequel that would explain how Leatherface and his family became the way they are. The resulting film was released in 2006 as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, which was directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Darkness Falls, Battle Los Angelis) and written by Sheldon Turner (The Longest Yard '05, Up In The Air) from a story co-wrote by David J. Schow (Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, The Crow '94) Joining the hosts Bede & Steve to discuss this prequel is first-time guest writer/author John Harrison (Sin Street Sleaze, Creatures Of the Screen - The Uncensored (And Unofficial) History of Kissploitation On Film, Television & Home Video).     Bede Vs. The Living Dead Episode 80 - Night Of The Living Dead: The Uncensored Cut (1990)... Tom Savini's New Version Of His NOTLD Remake

    Welcome to the lankmark episode 80 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. Here we are, everyone. The milestone 80th episode of the show. I's had to believe that there has been that many main episodes of this little podcast so far, but it just shows that there is so many different Night Of The Living Dead related projects out there. You can be damn sure that host Bede Jermyn is going to make sure to cover all them. Interstinly enough for this episode, Bede is taking another look at a version of NOTLD that he previously covered all the way back earlier on episode 2: the 1990 remake of Night Of The Living Dead from director Tom Savini. However, he will be looking at the new 'Uncensored Cut' of it, which was supervised by Savini himself for the remake's 35th anniversary 4k Blu-ray release. Despite the fourth installmentTexas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation bombing with both critics and audiences when it was released in 1995 (and on its re-release in 1997), there were plans there for a while to make a fifth entry. Unfortunately, they never came to fruition and the franchise went dormant for many years. However, director Michael Bay, his new production company Platinum Dune & the studio New Line Cinema picked up the rights and decided to remake the film for a whole new generation. The result was the 2003 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which was the directorial debut for acclaimed music video director Marcus Nispel (Friday The 13th '09, Conan The Barbarian '11) and written by Scott Kosar (The Machinist, The Amityville Horror '05). Despite it's mixed reception, it was a big box office hit.
