Why I'm not talking to my dad right now

In this episode - In an effort to start the conversation on healing our "daddy issues" as women, your host speaks on her experience with navigating tough parental relationships, how mental health issues can affect the family dynamic (IYKYK) & culture shock when your "soft place to land" is taken away as a child. A note from the host: I wasn't exactly sure what I was expecting to get out of this. I don't know if this helped or hurt the situation, but I do know many women go through similar experiences with their fathers when it comes to not having that soft space to be yourself. I do know many people form traumatic bonds with their fathers and that these relationships can be extremely painful for people to work through. However, I also know that having these kinds of conversation frees us from our own unspoken truths and need to be had more often (particularly in black & brown communities). This is my attempt to heal these kinds of relationships not only in my own life, but in yours too. Enjoy.
