    Episode 20: GTFO 4 Good, Party of One

    This week were going to talk about Countries to emigrate to and how to get permanent residency status Welcome to 1m1csh Im Chris, and this week, were going to go on a journey into the future.  Who’s future?  Well, mine, but youre welcome to see it through my lenses too.  Someday I think we all hope to relax.  Whether its on a beach, walking in the woods, climbing a rock, or just reading a books with the gentle lapping of the waves to caress you, we all have our vision of bliss.  The reality for many, and dare I say most of us, is that unless you have already made significant investments in your own future, it is going to be hard to manage to reach your dreams.  New studies show that the 25-35 year old worker will now need $4 million in order to retire.  Holy shit… So I thought, well, it sure aint here So where do I get more bang for my buck, and how TF do I get out sooner rather than later?  If I knew that, id already be ther, but it didnt stop me from starting to look at where my meager savings might do me better, and just how much it would cost to retire in paradise. How do you judge this?  Well there are a few things that come to mind for me.

    https://www.notinhalloffame.com/fictitious-athlete-hall-of-fame Once again this year the base ball hall of fame has decided to induct just ONE player into its hallowed halls.  THis seems a travesty of its own, and the steroid era weighs heavy on the count still.  THis is not how baseball is supposed to make us feel.  It supposed to be pastoral, the same game played by ruth and gehrig is played today (albeit with 6 more games and expanded playoffs and rosters)  Similarly the pro football hall of fame has become such a money grab and huge event (blown WAY out of proportion even according to this sports fan) that its hard to celebrate some of the players for the opposite reason, just too many (imo).   Isnt sports supposed to be an emotional connection?  There are some fictional athletes that have taken me on better journeys than their real life counterparts, and thats what were going to talk about this week.  A little site I found that got this episode off the ground, the fictitious athlete hall of fame. Welcome to 1m1csh Im Chris and this week were going to try something a little different around here.  I have used the benefits of ai to help me write up some NEW stories for some of these heroes of cinema and screen.  So this week, youll get a quasi historical write up, and perhaps some AI generated fanfic thrown in.  Since its ALL about fictitious characters, im going to let YOU decide which is which.  Do you know the stories of these on screen athletes?     Its Monday morning.  How did you spend you weekend?  If youre like 63% of Americans you had a drink or used some drugs to unwind.  If we expand our definition of drugs to actually, you know, include ‘drugs’ like caffeine and nicotine, the number eclipses 90%.  Its just the price of being an active human, right?     Ep 16: A Brief History of Time (Not to be confused with Stephen Hawking)

    Did you learn to count on your fingers?  Did you learn just how to count to ten?  Take a moment and do a little experiment with me, use either hand and hold it out palm up comfortably.  Using your thumb, tap on each finger segment on each of your 4 fingers (you can start from either end).  Did you get 12?  Good.  Now, if youre not driving or something, you can do this next part too.  Now that youve counted a full hand (12) mark that by putting up a finger on your OTHER hand.  If you then repeat this, 4 more times, you will have counted to 60, right?  And youre other hand will be open.     Ep 14: Ranked Choice Voting : Making sense of a system that doesn't support you

    Lets play democracy.  You're in a room with 99 other people, and you have to decide on your dinner and dessert.  There are 3 options for dinner, you decide to vote on whether it will be chicken, steak, or vegetarian.  The votes come in.  38 votes for vegetarian, okay, no worries that means most people want meat, youre going to get meat, right?  The votes finish.  Steak 32…Chicken 30.  The winner for dinner IS… the Cauliflower steak.  But how did this happen when most people wanted to have meat?  I mean 62 people wanted meat, what's the problem here? https://campaignlegal.org/democracyu/accountability/ranked-choice-voting

    Ep 13: Sportswashing (is that too short?)

    In the last decade there has been a trend for major sports and sports entertainment and entertainment companies to stage lucrative events in countries that have less than stellar reputations. WWE and UFC come to mind right away, and Maybe you have heard about the this thing called the world cup? The general idea of sportswashing is to associate a regime, nation, culture, or identity with a favorable outlook based on its support of sport, as opposed to its record on things like human rights.  For example, if your favorite team is bought by a Saudi corporation (looking at you Newcastle United) and they start spending money, and the team does well, you might think benevolently about the Saudis at first mention instead of associating them with say Kashoggi.
