    Purposefully Managing Money and Partnership

Marian and Christine spend time chatting about knowing your numbers. Then they turn to maintaining partnership in relationships. “Growing up, Christy was never 100% what career path to choose. Life led her to receive her master’s in accountancy, but what she really loves is entrepreneurship and business. Her knowledge of the numbers is a great tool in helping others to build their businesses. Following a career in finance in NYC, Christy came home to NC where she met her husband. She quickly found a job as a controller for an up-and-coming outdoors brand, helping to grow that company over 400% in just five years. Following the birth of their first child, Christy decided to embark on her own entrepreneurial adventure and started a bookkeeping and consulting business. But, fate would turn the tables with an opportunity to take on another venture, one that her husband currently runs and has grown over 700% in five years, despite the constraints of the pandemic. Christy now works as a VCFO, supporting the endeavors of a few select clients and wants to share her knowledge base and lessons with females that are pursuing their life’s dreams. Beans & Jelly is a place for women to learn about finance and the key drivers that can help them achieve their business goals.” https://beansandjelly.com/

    Transformational Parenting

Drawing from their experience as children and parents, Marian and Rosemary talk about getting your needs met within the boundaries of relationships. Then using those lessons to help our children, friends and spouses enjoy the same results. After burning out at work, Rose learned, in therapy, that she had had a highly abusive childhood. Her need to push herself SO HARD was rooted in trying to earn something that seemed out of reach her whole life - feeling her parents' love.  When Rose became a mom, it magnified her insecurities, and started triggering UNSHED TEARS and UNEXPRESSED ANGER. She felt she had 2 CHOICES… Fall into the abyss of repeating what her parents did, or learn completely new ways of relating.  Rose will forever be grateful that she stumbled upon Language of Listening® A parenting model that not only allowed her to become the mom she always wanted to be, but also allowed her to re-parent herself.  Now, as an Authorized Language of Listening® coach, she specializes in helping moms who had difficult childhoods and gets them to a place where they LOVE the way they parent. https://www.afteraces.com/love-the-way-you-parent

    Grief Is Not Depression

Many times in my life I thought I was depressed.  However, except for the actual post-partum depression after my 3rd (and only daughter) was born,  I have discovered that the deepest most paralyzing emotions I have are grief.  Grief of the possibilities not realized.  I have found tricks to process that grief and I am able to move on most often with in a few hours, if not a few days! Grief can often be masked as depression. It can also come out the blue, from occasions that you think "should . . . ".  Listen to the podcast for more of Marian's story of discovery.  BIO -- Marian is the mother of 3, step-mom to 2, aunt of 48+, sister to 9, cousin of 98+, friend of many and wife to her eternal companion Tommy
