This episode is about why I started this podcast. Not for numbers.
Not for approval.
Not to say the “right” thing. I started it because I needed somewhere to tell the truth. The truth about survival.
The truth about living in a hurting body.
The truth about surgery recovery, chronic pain, mental health, grief, exhaustion, motherhood, trauma, healing, and all the invisible battles people carry while the world keeps moving. I know what it is like to have a body that has been through a lot. I know what it is like when physical pain starts bleeding into your thoughts.
When anesthesia, recovery, fear, fatigue, and pain make you feel unlike yourself.
When your body is hurting and your mind gets tired of fighting with it. And I know what it is like to survive things that changed me. Losing my eye as a young girl.
Becoming a teen mom.
Walking through hard seasons that demanded strength before I even knew I had it. There have been moments in my life when survival was not beautiful.
It was messy.
It was painful.
It was getting through one more day. And that is why I am going to keep recording this podcast. No matter what. If people do not like what I say, so what.
If they do not agree with me, so what.
If my truth makes someone uncomfortable, that does not mean I am supposed to stop telling it. I am not here to make everyone comfortable. I am here to use my voice. Because somewhere, there is a person listening from a hospital bed, a recovery room, a dark bedroom, a parked car, or a place in their own mind they do not know how to climb out of. And maybe they need to hear this: You survived. You are alive now. You have today. What are you going to do with it? This podcast was born from survival, but it has become something more. It has become a place where I can turn pain into purpose.
Where I can say the things I wish someone had said to me.
Where I can remind the person living inside a hurting body that their life is still here. And somewhere along the way, speaking became part of my healing too. This podcast did not just give me a platform. It gave me a reason to keep showing up. So I will keep recording.
I will keep telling the truth.
I will keep speaking about surgery recovery, chronic pain, mental health, resilience, healing, survival, and what it means to keep choosing life after life has tested you. Because if one person hears this at the exact moment they are thinking about giving up, then every word was worth saying. You survived. Now what are you going to do with today?
