In Part 2 of our spiritual journeys series, we continue our honest and unfiltered conversations about religion, faith, identity, and the experiences that have shaped us. This week, Hannah and Jacob share their personal stories, offering two very different perspectives on life within the church. Hannah reflects on her positive experiences growing up in her faith, while Jacob opens up about bringing his own parents into the church, only to later find himself questioning and regretting that decision. We also dive into some difficult but important conversations about the struggles of being gay within the church, the challenges of navigating religious expectations, and what it's like living in the heart of the Bible Belt, where questioning traditional beliefs or following a different spiritual path can often come with judgment and criticism.     Coffins, Stones & One Hell of a Rant

    This week, the whole team is heading to Scotland, so naturally, we decided to bring a little bit more of Scotland to the podcast! We're diving into four fascinating stories that span centuries of Scottish folklore, archaeology, mystery, and history. First, we head to Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh to explore the strange little Fairy Coffins—17 tiny coffins discovered hidden on the hillside in 1836, and a mystery that still has no definitive explanation. Then we turn to the Cailleach, the ancient and enigmatic figure of Scottish and Celtic folklore associated with winter, storms, mountains, and the wild landscape. Who or what is the Cailleach, and why does she appear in so many different traditions? From there, we travel back thousands of years to the Standing Stones of Stenness, one of the remarkable prehistoric monuments of Orkney. Who built them, what purpose did they serve, and what might these ancient stones tell us about the people who raised them? And finally, things take a decidedly more heated turn with James Macpherson's rant. We dig into the man behind the controversial Ossian poems and the storm of debate, accusations, and cultural controversy that followed his claims. Four stories. Thousands of years of history.     Graves, Ghosts & Legends: The Kirkyards of Scotland

    Join us as we journey through some of Scotland's most atmospheric burial grounds, uncovering stories of history, folklore, tragedy, loyalty, and legend. We begin in Inverness, exploring the historic cemetery on the hill overlooking the city and the stories connected to this atmospheric resting place. From there, we travel to Fife to uncover the story of the last witch believed to have been buried there, exploring the history and folklore surrounding her grave. Next, we head to Edinburgh's infamous Greyfriars Kirkyard, where we delve into the dark tale of "Bloody" Mackenzie, the enduring legend surrounding his tomb, and the much-loved story of Greyfriars Bobby, the faithful little dog whose name has become part of Edinburgh's history. Finally, we journey to Stirling and Cambuskenneth Abbey, exploring its long and fascinating history and the belief that part of William Wallace's remains may have been buried there. From ancient stones and forgotten graves to witches, rebels, loyal dogs, and dark legends, these burial grounds reveal a fascinating side of Scotland's past.     Bad Omens: The Strange History Behind the Signs We Fear

    Why do we still get uneasy when a clock suddenly stops, hear three mysterious knocks, see a raven lingering nearby, or encounter the number 13? In this episode, we dig into the true history behind some of the world's most enduring bad omens. We explore how crows and ravens became associated with death, why a stopped clock was once believed to predict a death in the household, and the eerie folklore claiming that three knocks can mean someone has died and is coming to say goodbye. We also trace the superstition surrounding the number 13, from ancient ideas about the perfection of the number 12 to later Norse traditions involving Loki as the unwanted thirteenth guest. Are these omens warnings from something beyond us, ancient attempts to make sense of coincidence, or simply stories powerful enough to survive for thousands of years?     When Trees Touched Heaven: Giant Trees in Religion & Myth

    What if the idea of impossibly giant trees isn't just an internet conspiracy? From the towering tree in Daniel 4 and the colossal cedar of Ezekiel 31, to Yggdrasil in Norse mythology, the World Tree of the Maya, and the Hindu Aśvattha, cultures across the world have imagined enormous trees stretching between earth and heaven. In this episode, we explore the recurring image of the cosmic tree — its roots reaching into the underworld, its trunk standing in the human realm, and its branches extending into the heavens. We'll look at what these ancient traditions actually say, what the giant trees symbolize, and why the same strange image appears again and again across religions separated by geography and time.     On New Year's Day 2024, a massive police response descended on Miami's Bayside Marketplace after reports of fighting, fireworks, and chaos involving dozens of teenagers. But within days, the story had transformed into something much stranger: witnesses claiming they saw towering shadowy beings, rumors of interdimensional portals, malfunctioning phones, black helicopters, power outages, and a government cover-up. So what actually happened at the Miami mall? In this episode, we dig into the confirmed events, the infamous footage of the alleged 8–10-foot "alien," the eyewitness stories that appeared afterward, and how one chaotic night became one of the internet's biggest modern UFO legends.
