Vatican & World News

The information is good, but the lazy edits and the desire to only ever perform one take make this podcast messier than befits the Vatican.

For our Pope Leo and this podcast

I’ve been listening to this podcast since the election of the new pope. I really liked the news that I was getting in the beginning, and almost immediately noticed a left leaning slant to the reporting, but I chose to push on; because I am a catholic first, then a husband, then a father, and only after those three things are taken care of do I put my political views in a place of importance. That being said, I just can’t handle it anymore. I love the idea of getting news from the Vatican and the world in one podcast, but it’s just kind of gross that y’all infuse all your reporting with your personal political views. It would be nice to just get the news. It would be nice if you were just a little bit more professional. But, maybe I’m confused, maybe you intended on being a commentators, and not journalistic reporters. Anyways, y’all lost my support. Maybe I’ll check back with you guys in a few years.

While the information given daily is interesting & encyclopedic, its delivery comes across as slapdash & comical (if I wasn’t wincing with each frequent fumble of elocution). The presenters sound as if they are encountering & reading their copy for the first time ever. Stammers, stutters, & mispronunciations are rife. Furthermore the cadence of the delivery is so cartoonish (especially in the case of one of the male presenters) that one would be forgiven if they mistook the news reader for a character in The Family Guy. And yet … I listen daily.
