    Episode 50: Interview with Natalie the APD

    In this episode, Joshua talks with Natalie Cunningham, one of the summer APD's of 2025. They talk about Natalie's years at camp, how camp has impacted her, and their favorite camp traditions. Natalie also talks about some things she hopes to convey to the staff, campers, and parents this summer! From Natalie: "My name is Natalie, I am 21 years old, and this summer I will be serving as one of the assistant program directors at Beaver Camp.  This is my fourth summer on staff, but the past three summers I have been a counselor and wilderness trip leader.  I recently graduated from Houghton University with a degree in Environmental Science and a minor in Bible. In the fall, I plan to look for jobs and internships, hopefully either in the conservation field or in full-time camp ministry.  Some of my hobbies include hiking, camping, playing the guitar, and softball. I was raised in a Christian home and have been blessed with wonderful parents who have raised me to know and love the Lord.  I have been active in my church from a very young age, but I didn’t begin to make my faith my own until late high school.  Prior to that, I was living a very wishy-washy faith that didn’t really go beyond Sunday morning service. Being on staff at Beaver Camp and attending college have led to an incredible amount of personal and spiritual growth for me!  I have learned a lot of hard lessons and been through some challenges, but having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ has made the hard times manageable.  I have learned to lean on Him and trust that He is molding and shaping me through the difficulties.  I am learning that on my own, I can do nothing, but in my weakness, He is strong!"

    Episode 49: Interview with Emma the Challenge Course Instructor!

    In this episode, Joshua talks with Emma, the summer Challenge Course Instructor for 2025. They discuss job responsibilities, their hopes for the summer, and what they want to improve for this year. Emma also talks about some things he hopes to convey to the staff, campers, and parents this summer! From Emma: "Hi! My name is Emma Roggie and I’m really excited to be serving as Challenge Course Instructor here at Beaver Camp this summer! I am from Beaver Falls, NY. This will be my fourth summer working at camp, and I’m excited to take on a leadership role. Beaver Camp has been a huge part of my life growing up, and I want it to be the same for these campers too. Beaver Camp really is a place to grow, and one of my favorite ways to do that at camp is the challenge course! After camp I will be returning to Cedarville University for my senior year, where I will be continuing to pursue a Nursing degree."

    Episode 48: Interview with Marcus the APD

    In this episode, Joshua talks with Marcus White, one of the summer APD's of 2025. They talk about Marcus's years at camp, how camp has impacted him, and their favorite camp traditions. Marcus also talks about some things he hopes to convey to the staff, campers, and parents this summer! From Marcus: "Hi y'all! My name is Marcus White and I am from Whitesboro, Ny. I'm 21 years old and this summer I will be one of the Assistant Program Directors at Beaver Camp! (APD for short) This is my fifth summer working at Beaver Camp, and in previous summers I served as a Kitchen Aide (2 summers), and as a Counselor (2 summers). I am currently enrolled at Houghton University, where I am dual majoring in Inclusive Adolescence Education and History. This fall will be my Senior year at Houghton. Outside of camp and school I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I especially enjoy hanging out while playing board/card games.I owe a huge part of my faith journey to Beaver Camp. I still remember to this day accepting Christ into my heart on the back deck of the beach cabin Balsam. My two favorite verses have to be Proverbs 16:9 and Isaiah 6:8. I look forward to being one of the two APDs this summer. I hope you are all as excited as I am! See y'all at check-in!Isaiah 6:8 --- Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I; send me!”"

    Episode 47: Interview with Eli the Waterfront Director

    In this episode, Joshua talks with Eli Staab, the summer Waterfront Director for 2025. They talk about balancing leadership, big questions for staff and campers, and safety on the waterfront. I hope you enjoy the music! From our Waterfront Director: "My name is Elijah, but most everybody calls me Eli. I'm 19 years old and this summer I'll be the waterfront director at Beaver Camp! This is my fourth summer on staff, and in the past three I spent my time Lifeguarding and Counseling here at camp. I am currently attending Jefferson Community College for an Associates degree in Liberal Arts and Humanities, which I'll be finishing in the fall. I have a lot of hobbies, some of which are video games, exercising, chilling with my friends and playing some Ultimate Frisbee! I've grown up in a Catholic family my whole life, and my walk with the Lord had been mostly just the 1 hour on Sundays we spent at church. Before I started working at camp I never had an active, or passionate desire to learn about the Bible and grow in relationship with the Lord. Since then however, I have been blessed to be able to walk through life knowing Him better and enjoying the company of my friends that He has brought me through Beaver Camp! Not to say my walk has been without challenges, but everything is much easier to conquer with His help."
