A Good Work

Casandra Martinson

I think there's a common misconception about Christianity and what having a relationship with God is like today. We think it's about living a certain lifestyle or abiding by a set of a rules. It's something that a lot of us don't feel adds any value to our lives, or it feels restrictive and like we're signing up for a life that we no longer have any say or control over. My goal is to give you a different perspective on Christianity. As I get super vulnerable and delve into my own experience with Christianity, it is my hope that you feel seen, heard, and loved right where you're at every week.

If God is So Good, Why is There Evil and Suffering?

If God is so good, how is there evil and suffering? If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving, how can He allow such evil and suffering? Why doesn’t he just stop evil? End suffering? This is one of the most asked questions when it comes to Christianity and God and for good reason. From our perspective, it doesn’t seem possible or make sense. In this week’s episode, we’ll dive deep into Biblical perspectives, personal experiences, and thought-provoking insights and answers to one of the biggest questions asked in this space. We’ll discuss: 🔺 How a good and loving God can allow evil and suffering 🔺 The fact that God grieves and suffers with us in our suffering 🔺 Why God doesn’t just supernaturally intervene and prevent all evil 🔺There will be a day when God wipes all our tears away and evil and its consequences will no longer exist and so much more. Whether you’re questioning, searching, or looking for encouragement in your season of experiencing evil or suffering, I hope that you feel seen, heard, and loved. Let’s explore this tough but very important question together. If you feel led, please leave a review. I love getting to hear what it is that you want to talk about and how I can better show up for you and this podcast. If you have prayer requests, DM on Instagram. Want to connect further? What Does it Mean to be a Christian?

Hey you! Thank you so very much for taking the time to listen to another podcast episode. This topic was such a driving force behind the creation of this podcast. I feel as if there is a very common misconception around what it means to be a Christian. I’ve heard a lot of my friends, family, acquaintances, and even strangers say that they feel as if Christianity is a set of rules they have to abide by or a certain lifestyle that they have to live. Some even go as far as to say that they feel as if Christianity isn’t important and that it wouldn’t add any value to their lives. I am hoping to be a different voice in this space and give you a different perspective on what it means to be a Christian and the value found in who Jesus is. In this episode, I talk about what I have personally come to understand it means to be a Christian in reading my Bible, the church hurt that I have experienced, the fact that I unintentionally created an idol of who I thought God was, and more. I hope that this episode left you feeling seen, heard, and loved. I pray that God was able to speak to you and reach you through me. If you wouldn’t mind, please rate the podcast! My mission is to reach as many people as possible providing them a space in which they feel seen, heard, and loved and able to either explore Christianity and have a relationship with Jesus, grow in their faith, or ask the tough questions as they may wrestle with their disbelief.  If you feel this podcast could help someone, please share!  If I can be praying for you, please send me a DM either on my personal instagram or our podcast instagram. Gotquestions.org is an incredible resource. I use it for all kinds of questions, not just things pertaining to the Bible.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to listen. I’ll be talking to you all very soon. Have a great week!

    My Story to God

Hey you! Welcome to A Good Work!! I cannot put into words how equally scared and excited I am to be doing this. Eek! I'm diving head first into this and am hoping that you'll leave today's episode feeling seen, heard, and loved. Today, I wanted to let you into my life a little bit, my past, and even where I hope the future goes. I wanted to talk about my own person story to God and what that has looked like. I didn't grow up in a Christian household per se. I didn't say the sinner's pray. I didn't have a pretty, beautiful, cookie cutter story to God. My story stems from a a lot of pain, feeling like I wasn't enough, and losing something that I never thought I could be without amongst so many other things. My story involves coming to the end of myself and knowing that I needed someone to save me. To be honest, I talk about some things in this podcast that not even my closest friends or family know about. You're getting it first. I am dedicated to being 100 percent honest, trusting God with my yes and praying that He reaches you through my vulnerability and insane discomfort, ha. If you liked the episode, please subscribe and rate the podcast! I want to welcome as many people as possible into a safe community in which they also feel seen, heard, and loved, and not just by us, but by God too. If you need pray, please reach out to me. I see DM requests on my personal instagram. And I check DM requests often on the podcast Instagram. Don't forget that you can go to God just as you are, and I encourage you to do so. There's nothing you can do to make God love you any more or any less than He does right now. He sees you. He hears you. And He loves you. I cannot wait to see and hear of the personal stories in which God begins a good work in each of you. I love you so much. Thank you for allowing me a space to be SO real, SO vulnerable, and SO honest. It means the entire world to me and more. Until next week.
