The assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, one year ago, stunned the world. Some laughed, cheered, and endorsed his senseless murder. Others were sickened, angry, and worried. Still others wanted to retaliate. One thing is for sure: Charlie's death changed the world. When our producer, Alex Corn, heard about the assassination, he asked Dave to call one of his pastors and one of his elders from The Harbor Church to record and send out a podcast to help people work through the hurt, sadness, anger, and shock. The following Sunday, September 14, 2025, Pastor Dave gave a sermon entitled, "HOW SHOULD WE RESPOND TO THE ASSASSINATION OF CHARLIE KIRK?" Later, the church found out that, sadly, only a handful of churches in the Tampa Bay Area spoke out about this tragedy. God had used Charlie in tremendous ways, and he became the largest voice in Christendom, not only for the younger generation but for all generations. Charlie repeatedly said the church is mandated to speak out on what the Bible says about cultural, social, financial, and political issues, but many churches choose to avoid these topics for two main reasons. 1: They fear people leaving their churches. 2: They fear retaliation from communist, Islamic, and LGBTQ+ activists. Charlie was adamant that pastors must speak out, stand firm in the faith (1 Corinthians 16:13-14), and never cower under outside or internal pressure. One year later, there are three things we can do: 1: Stand firm in the faith, speak out, and challenge the unBiblical groups like Communism (Democratic Socialists of America), Islam, and the LGBTQ+ worldview. 2: Pray for those who think differently and may not like our Biblical worldview. 3: Pray for the Kirk Family, the TPUSA family, and anyone who personally knew Charlie and his family.
