Recipes for Resistance

We provide a platform for minoritized voices to discuss how to foster equity in Computer Science (CS) and CS Education (CSE) fields. We seek to elevate voices and ideas beyond those traditionally centered, including CS teachers, parents, students, and community members whose lived experiences include doing work by and for their communities.

    Episode 3: Teaching and Learning CS in a Pandemic (Part 3)

    Part three of episode one is out now and available only on our website: ⁠recipes4resistance.github.io⁠  For our third episode we talked with K-12 CS teachers about what teaching and learning amidst the pandemic has looked like and how they've resisted and built community. In the third and final part of this episode, we have some cool word clouds as well as follow-up resources. We suggest engaging with all three parts of the episode in order: ⁠Part 1⁠ helps frame the episode, ⁠Part 2⁠ is the recorded kitchen table talk, and ⁠Part 3⁠ which contains additional resources.     In this episode, guest co-hosts Adia Wallace and Dr. Jen Tsan talk with Esmeralda, Faythe, and Santiago, three K-12 Computer Science teachers. They share their experiences teaching in the U.S. and Colombia and how they cultivated community and care despite the challenges brought on by the onset of the pandemic.
