Back to the Earth: A Mother & Daughter’s Journey to Purpose and Peace

Send us Fan Mail On this episode of the Stories to Create Podcast, Cornell Bunting sits down with Ana Carolina and Antonia Nicole, a mother-daughter duo who own, manage, and operate the Wildland Sanctuary. For nearly a decade, Ana Carolina has lived off the grid with her daughter, Antonia, embracing a life rooted in simplicity, intention, and a deep connection to the Earth. Far removed from the noise of modern society, they have created a lifestyle centered around harmony with nature—growing their own food, living sustainably, and honoring the natural rhythms of the land. What began as a personal journey of healing and reconnection has evolved into something far greater—Wildland Sanctuary. More than a place, it is a sacred space designed for restoration, reflection, and rediscovery. While the sanctuary is home to breathtaking and majestic birds, its true purpose lies in offering people an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves and the world around them. In a fast-paced world filled with constant distractions, Ana and Antonia invite others to return to something essential—to stillness, to presence, and to wholeness. Ana’s journey began in Brazil, where she was raised on a farm surrounded by the beauty and sounds of nature. As a child, she spent hours observing birds and collecting their feathers—moments that quietly planted the seeds of a greater calling. After moving to the United States, that connection faded—until she found herself drawn back through volunteering at an exotic bird sanctuary. In those quiet, meaningful moments, she rediscovered her purpose and began the path that would eventually lead to the creation of Wildland Sanctuary. This episode is more than a conversation—it is a story of healing, purpose, and returning to what truly matters. Listen as the story unfolds.
