Famished for Film is a collaborative effort between the not so brilliant minds of Benjamin Despres and Jackson Mcfadden as they explore the wide array of pretentious film discussion that no one dares to enter. Conversations about what's wrong with modern filmmaking, what underlying hidden gem movies are doing things right, and even a guest here and there along the way are waiting for you in this journey filled with giggles and critical analysis galore.

Episodes

Episode 6 - Sing 2, Adam Edwards on Film

Not only is Sing 2 incredibly shallow, vapid, bland, horrible, disgusting, and rancid, but it is also one of the most popular kids movies to come out recently. Join Ben and Jackson as they both talk about their gripes with the horrendous cinematic filmmaking of Sing 2 as well as a few possible things that they actually liked about it. Afterwards, an interview with none other than Adam Edwards is waiting for you where we discuss practical effects and Tom Cruise’s The Mummy.

  2. 12/07/2022

Episode 5 - Fantastic Mr. Fox, Cade Tessman on Film

Kids movies don’t have to be bad, and a fantastic example of this statement is none other than Fantastic Mr. Fox. Join the two film loving hosts Ben and Jackson as they talk about one of their favorite animated movies of all time and get to the bottom of why it’s such a widely appealing movie. To top this off there will also be an interesting interview with film lover Cade Tessman where he conveys his love for The Lord of the Rings trilogy and his passion towards worldbuilding.

  3. 12/07/2022

Episode 4 - Blended, Anna Weeks on Film

It’s time to blend! With anything but this movie because Blended is discussed rather distastefully by the two hosts Ben and Jackson on this episode. Join them as they converse about an Adam Sandler movie that fails in many regards, but perhaps, succeeds in a few aspects here and there. Afterwards Ben and Jackson both join together to interview Anna Weeks about her least favorite films and the nuances of open-mindedness in film discussion.

  4. 12/07/2022

Episode 3 - Marriage Story, Joel Pitts on Film

So long to the fictitious association that you have with movies on the silver screen, Marriage Story is a heartbreaking film that is anything but fiction. Join Ben and Jackson as they exchange mental breakdowns discussing the genuine writing and raw unadulterated acting that makes Marriage Story one of the most emotional films of the past decade. On top of this, we may even learn a thing or two from Joel Pitts about anime movies, and even the unfortunate by products of Disney’s impact on the industry.

  5. 11/14/2022

Episode 2 - Free Guy, Zoe Dubiski on Film

It doesn’t get worse than this. Free Guy is one of the latest and greatest blockbusters to hit theaters as of late, and it is utter garbage. At least that is the opinion of the two cynics hosting this podcast. Join me and Jackson as we pick apart the utter idiocy that goes into making one of the worst blockbuster films of all time as entirely inept and nauseating as it could possibly be. If you stick around, you might even be able to enjoy an interview with none other than Zoe Dubiski herself as she discusses her love for Studio Ghibli movies, and her annoyance with female representation in modern filmmaking.

  6. 11/14/2022

Episode 1 - Baby Driver, Jackson Mcfadden on Film

There are plenty of films out there that come across as incredibly low effort and stagnant to the average audience member, but what about the films that actually try? Today me and my co-host will be discussing a film within this category known as none other than Baby Driver. This action packed thrill ride of a film pumps adrenaline and creativity up to eleven with it’s exhilarating car chases, and heart bumping choreography that rival that of any action movie. On top of this, we also manage to gain a chance at picking the brain of Jackson Mcfadden himself and his many opinions on film, his preferences when it comes to film watching, and even his enjoyment of anime filmmaking.
