Ep. 75 Our Experience with Survival Swim Lessons for our Toddler

In this episode of Wisdom of the Womb, I'm sharing our family's experience enrolling our nearly three-year-old son in survival swim lessons. From the emotional challenges of watching him learn these life-saving skills to the incredible transformation we've witnessed, this conversation dives into one of the most important parenting decisions we've made. Did you know that drowning is one of the leading causes of death for children under four? Yet many traditional swim programs can take years to teach essential water safety skills, often leaving children reliant on floaties and puddle jumpers that can create a false sense of security. In this episode, I discuss: Why we decided survival swim lessons were a non-negotiable investment in our son's safety The concerning realities of childhood drowning risks Our experience with a Swim Float Swim program focused on self-rescue skills The unique techniques used to simulate real-life water emergencies What intensive lessons actually look like The emotional side of the process—for both parents and children How we prepared our son before lessons began My thoughts on how survival swim lessons differ from sleep training The positive changes and confidence we've already seen The difference between gentle parenting and attachment parenting in situations like this If you're raising babies or parenting toddlers, this episode may change the way you think about water safety forever. If this conversation resonates with you, please share it with a friend, family member, or fellow parent who could benefit from hearing it.  And if you're enjoying Wisdom of the Womb, please take a moment to leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Your support helps the show grow and allows me to continue bringing these important conversations to you.

Ep. 74 What to do if your husband or partner isn’t on board with health changes?

As women move through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, it’s natural to begin questioning old patterns and wanting to make different choices for your health, your home, and your children. But what happens when your partner isn’t fully on board? In this episode, I’m sharing one of the most common conversations I have with clients, friends, and women inside my coaching programs: how to navigate difficult conversations with your spouse when you’re growing, learning, and changing. Maybe you started your relationship aligned on everything… but over time your values, priorities, or health decisions evolved. Suddenly the changes you want to make around food, wellness, parenting, or lifestyle begin creating tension or resistance in your relationship. I’ve experienced this personally in my own marriage and have supported hundreds of women through it as well. In this episode, I break down the three foundational principles I always return to when approaching hard conversations with your partner: Speaking from the “I” Approaching conversations with love and respect Staying as curious as possible From there, I share the three approaches I teach my clients to help navigate these moments with more connection, understanding, and less conflict. I also share real-life examples of how these conversations have played out for clients and why sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is model what’s possible while allowing others the space to come to their own understanding. This is the kind of deep, supportive work we do inside my Group Coaching Program, Generational Wellness, and in private coaching. Home Birth Story: Hospital Transfer to Redemptive Free Birth| Birth Story Series Ep 7

In episode 7 of our home birth series, we sit down with Emily Nachazel to hear the powerful story of her two very different birth experiences — from a hospital transfer during her first birth to the deeply healing and redemptive experience of free birthing her second baby at home. Emily describes herself as a “birth nerd,” and although her work as a business and leadership coach for women isn’t directly centered around birth, motherhood has transformed the way she moves through life and guides the work she does every day. In this conversation, we explore the importance of not only knowing your truth intellectually, but truly feeling it and trusting it within your body. Emily shares how hearing positive birth stories — especially from her own mother, who spoke of loving pregnancy and feeling beautiful while pregnant — deeply shaped her relationship with birth and motherhood. She reflects on the lessons she learned from her first birth experience, including realizing how much she relied on external authority and permission from her care providers rather than listening inward and trusting her own instincts and body wisdom. We also talk about: Choosing pregnancy and birth providers based on intuition and connection rather than logistics alone The power of surrounding yourself with people who reflect hope instead of fear Learning to surrender and open to the birth process How her second free birth became the peaceful and healing experience she had hoped and prayed for Above all, Emily reminds us that every birth journey holds wisdom, and that coming home to yourself and your intuition can be one of the greatest gifts of motherhood. Home Birth Story: Euphoric Births and Catching the Birth Bug| Birth Story Series Ep 6

In this sixth episode of our Homebirth Series, I’m joined by Emily, holistic nutritionist and amazing mother of three, who shares her deeply personal journey through all three of her home births. Emily opens up about how being surrounded by women who had already experienced natural and home birth shaped her mindset before becoming a mother herself.  We explore the unique differences between her three pregnancies and births, and how each one taught her something new. From preparation to mindset shifts, Emily reflects on what she changed along the way and how those changes impacted her experiences. She shares the profound empowerment she felt after her first home birth and how she knew instantly that she never wanted to birth any other way again.  Emily also emphasizes the importance of postpartum preparation—something that’s often overlooked—and how intentional planning can make all the difference in first 40 days. We talk about practical tools and resources that supported her, including: Hypnobirthing (specifically HypnoBabies) Immersing yourself in positive birth stories through books and podcasts Educating yourself to build trust in your body Her powerful mantra: “With knowledge comes trust—in yourself and your body.” We also dive into the importance of choosing the right birth team and support system. Emily reminds us that birth is an intimate and personal experience—and you should never feel pressured to do anything that doesn’t align with your values. This episode is a beautiful reminder of the strength of the female body, the importance of informed choice, and the power of supportive community. Ep. 71 How I'm preparing mentally and emotionally for my second homebirth

In this episode, I’m sharing how I’m preparing for my second home birth—mentally, emotionally, and physically. This time around feels different in so many ways, and I’m leaning into what I’ve learned from my first birth while also making space for a completely new experience. I walk through the mindset work that’s grounding me, the practices I’m returning to, and how I’m holding both intention and surrender as I get closer to meeting this baby. Here are some topics I cover in more detail during this episode:  Listening to aligned birth stories Visualization Hypnobirthing Enjoying prenatal care Prepping for the birth with a toddler Chiropractic + Pelvic floor work Pregnancy Tea This time around the preparation feels less about controlling the outcome and more about creating a grounded, flexible, and supported inner state. I’m preparing for the birth I desire, while also making space for whatever unfolds. Home Birth Story: First-Time Mom 17 hour Water Birth After Working as Nurse in Hospital Births | Birth Story Series Ep 5

In this powerful episode of the Home Birth Series, we sit down with Hannah—a former pediatric nurse practitioner who has transitioned into her true calling as a holistic life and wellness coach. She shares her deeply transformative journey through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, offering an honest and inspiring look at what it means to trust your intuition and step into empowered motherhood. Hannah opens up about her unique perspective coming from years of working within the hospital birth system, and how that experience ultimately guided her toward choosing a home birth for her own first pregnancy.  We dive into how she approached the conversation about home birth with her husband, how they prepared together as a team, and the mindset work that helped her stay grounded and confident. Hannah speaks candidly about shutting down fear-based thinking, trusting her body, and fully believing in her choices. Her story of a 17-hour water birth is both grounding and empowering, highlighting the role of meditation, mental preparation, and surrender throughout labor. She also emphasizes the often-overlooked importance of postpartum support—for both mother and baby—and how that support plays a crucial role in long-term wellness. Throughout the episode, Hannah shares the power of hearing other women’s birth stories and how they helped her believe, “If they can do it, so can I.” She also gives us a glimpse into the meditation series she is currently creating to support women entering pregnancy and birth with intention and calm. Home Birth Story: “Birth Healed Me” — From Birth Center to Fast Freebirth | Birth Story Series Ep 4

This episode is one of the most intimate and powerful conversations in the Wisdom of the Womb birth story series so far—and it’s truly a must-listen. I’m joined by one of my closest friends, joining us from Colorado, as she shares her deeply transformative journey into motherhood. From her fast-paced corporate life to becoming a stay-at-home mom, her story is a beautiful unfolding of trust, surrender, and coming home to her body. We explore the profound power of connecting with your womb, your baby, and your inner knowing—and how that connection can completely transform the birth experience. If you’ve ever felt fear around birth, her story will speak directly to your heart. She shares how she worried that her body might struggle to give birth during her first pregnancy, only to discover just how natural, instinctive, and empowering it truly was when the moment came. Her second birth? The freebirth she always knew was possible—and the one she finally claimed. This episode is a testament to what can unfold when a woman trusts herself, honors her intuition, and allows birth to be what it was always meant to be. Home Birth Story: From Processing Her First Birth to a 75-Minute Empowering Second Birth | Birth Story Series Ep 3

In this third episode of our Home Birth Story Series, we sit down with Camryn—a mama of two, therapist, and Reiki practitioner—as she shares her deeply personal journey through two home births. Camryn opens up about what initially drew her to home birth, including the powerful influence of witnessing her own mother give birth at home to her younger siblings. That early imprint shaped her understanding of birth as a natural, intuitive, and empowering experience—and ultimately guided her own path into motherhood. We explore the contrast between her first and second births, including how she processed her initial experience and intentionally prepared for a more aligned and empowered second birth. Her second labor—just 75 minutes long—became a transformative experience rooted in trust, connection, and surrender. A key part of that transformation came through her decision to take a hypnobirthing course prior to her second birth. She also offers beautiful, practical wisdom for expecting mothers—especially the importance of creating space to go inward before birth.  Helpful Resources: If you’re currently pregnant or planning your care, I created a guide to help you ask the right questions and feel confident choosing your provider: https://www.stefanieadler.com/Guide-to-Interviewing-Your-Pregnancy-Care-Provider  Recommended reading: Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth: https://www.amazon.com/Ina-Mays-Guide-Childbirth-Gaskin/dp/0553381156 Podcast recommendation: Happy Homebirth Podcast Connect with Me: Instagram: @stefanieadlerwellness Connect with Camryn: The Harmony Collective: https://www.theharmonycollective.com/ camryn@theharmonycollective.com
