In downtown San Jose, the long-unsolved “San Jose Semaphore” puzzle atop Adobe’s headquarters was decoded by Brian as pixel color values that form a rose from Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus; Adobe teased a new puzzle with a two-year Creative Cloud prize and referenced earlier puzzles encoding The Crying of Lot 49 and Neil Armstrong’s moon quote. In Germany, Andre set a Guinness record popping 60 balloons in 30 seconds using a toilet plunger. A thrift-store buyer restored a Broyhill Brasilia dresser set and sold it for $9,000.
