Legendary filmmaker Phedon Papamichael discusses the journey from the Roger Corman "farm" to creating some of the most iconic films ever including Cool Runnings, Walk the Line, Sideways, Ford vs Ferrari, A Complete Unknown, and many, many others. Phedon also brings the spotlight to european talent often when he travels across the pond. He has attended Camerimage year after year, answering questions from filmmakers who have studied and enjoyed his work. Please do yourself a favor and watch BRIGHTON 4TH. Director Matthew Thompson - ANOMALY

Matthew Thompson is a writer and director, whose new series ANOMALY premieres February 26th, 2026. Matthew also just screened FOOD 2050 at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The film is narrated by Oscar Winner Viola Davis. Under their joint production banner, THE MATTS, Matthew Law and Matthew Thompson create their passion projects. Hilariously, the name of their production company was bestowed upon them by none other than David Fincher. Director Salomon Ligthelm -Epiclesis, Beyond the Endless Light, Moeder

Salomon Ligthelm is a prolific director, and in my opinion, destined for the IMAX screen. In this episode, we discuss what inspires him and what he aims to achieve with his stories. Salomon is from South Africa, but now resides in New York with his family. He travels to Los Angeles to film often and is continuously producing work that moves the needle. There are a handful of artists that really get me excited about this era of filmmaking, and Salomon Ligthelm is at the top of that list. Brandon Cox - One Spoon of Chocolate, Hunting Season, Four Rivers Six Ranges, and Free Bert

Cinematographer Brandon Cox returns to Getting Made after completing four feature films and a NETFLIX series, FREE BERT. In this episode, Brandon talks about working overseas with International crews, and his life changing experience on FOUR RIVERS SIX RANGES. He then lensed for Director RZA, on One Spoon Full of Chocolate which had its premiere at the TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL to a sold out theater. This film also received high praise from Quentin Tarantino. On top of that, he was recruited to DP for the Hunting Season ( previous working title of Mermaid), a crime thriller starring the legendary Mel Gibson. Brandon shares some of his favorite moments from working with Mel, who is currently filming the Resurrection of the Christ (which will be released in two parts). Brandon also talks about his experience working on the recently wrapped NETFLIX series FREE BERT, starring Bert Kreisher. Brandon Cox is on an incredible streak and it has only just begun. Cinematographer Pithai Smithsuth - White Lotus Season 3

Cinematographer Pithai Smithsuth is on an incredible path. As a child he visited David Fincher's set for Panic Room, and was blown away by the problem solving exhibited by the crew. He started filming skate videos for his friends, and his skills continued to grow. Then he went into a completely different field, first into music, then commiting to and graduating from aviation school. But he never forgot the wonder he experienced on Fincher's set. He began line producing in Thailand and one day the cinematographer was held up on a flight and he was given his big break, which led to a Vimeo Staff Pick. Pretty soon, Nike came calling and he filmed multiple pieces for them in Thailand. Then he began and incredible run including Da Five Bloods with Spike Lee, Killers of the Flower Moon with Martin Scorsese and Rodrigo Prieto, and the Creator with Greig Fraser, Oren Soffer, and Gareth Edwards. If you're familiar with the film industry, you know that it is common for a job to appear the moment you purchase a plane ticket out of town. This is exactly what happened to Pithai when he and his family set out to return to the United States. This time, the call was for White Lotus Season 3, and Pithai would be working alongside a DP he long admired; Ben Kutchins. Cinematographer Peter Simonite - Day of the Fight

His story is a fascinating one, growing up on film sets with his family and branching out in many creative fields. He has been able to save various Studios massive amounts of money through his tech prowess.
