S6 EP28 The Social Media Lie that's Keeping Clinic's Stuck

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. Today I’m building on what I said last week about most clinic marketing being a complete waste of time. I want to talk about one of the biggest lies clinic owners have been sold in recent years, that the more followers you have, the more successful your business will be. Episode Summary Today I'm calling out the follower trap and why it keeps clinic owners busy but not profitable. I explain the difference between attention and intention, share a real example from the clinic, and leave you with a 30 day challenge to focus on what actually drives bookings, profit, and time freedom.   Key Takeaways Followers do not equal success. Clients, profit, cash in the bank, time freedom, and a fully booked diary do.Followers are easy to measure, which is why they can become a distraction.Attention is cheap. Intention is valuable. Focus on the people actively looking for help.If you feel overwhelmed, check what you are spending time on and whether it is producing results.Referrals, reviews, and local relationships often drive more growth than posting more content.Trust is built through consistency, results, reputation, and exceptional patient experiences.AI and modern search are pushing us towards being the most trusted answer, not the loudest voice.Resources Register for my free masterclass at the end of June: The No Fluff Marketing Plan for therapists and clinic and studio owners who hate social mediaIf you enjoyed this episode, have a fabulous rest of your day. S6 EP27 Most Clinic Marketing Is A Complete Waste Of Time

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. I am Katie Bell, and today I am sharing something that might ruffle a few feathers. Most clinic marketing is a complete waste of time. Not marketing itself, but the way many clinic owners are spending their precious hours. If you have ever poured time into Canva, captions, reels, and posts, only to check your phone later and see a handful of likes, this episode is for you. I am going to help you refocus on what actually drives enquiries and bookings, without dancing on social media or chasing trends. Episode Summary In this episode, I talk about the productivity trap that keeps clinic owners busy but not growing. Somewhere along the line, marketing has become confused with posting, and that is a problem. Patients do not pay your rent because you reached more people on Instagram. Patients pay your bills because they trust you, they can find you when they need help, and you make it easy for them to book. I share the only marketing scorecard that matters, the question you must be able to answer if Instagram disappeared tomorrow, and the fundamentals that have driven the biggest growth periods in my clinic. I also explain how we use social media as a support, not as the engine, and why stripping things back and working the path until it works is often the fastest route to better results. Key Takeaways Marketing is not the same as posting. Activity does not equal results. The only scorecard that matters is enquiries and bookings, not reach or likes. If Instagram disappeared tomorrow, you should know exactly where your next 10 patients would come from.Build visibility where decisions are made, not just where attention lives. The fundamentals drive growth: patient experience, referrals, reviews, community relationships, trust, and being easy to recommend.Stop doing a mile wide and an inch deep of marketing. Strip it back and work the path until it works.Social media can support your campaigns, but it should not consume your time or distract you from fixing leaks in your clinic.Look at what is already working, then do more of that before starting something new.Thank you for joining me for this episode of Treat Your Business. S12 EP38 Why some people get results and some people don't!

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome to the Treat Your Business podcast, the show for clinic owners who want real, honest advice and tried and tested ways of doing things. I’m Katie Bell, and this is the new era of bigger insights and bolder conversations to help you grow a clinic and a life you love. Let’s dive in. Episode summary Last week, I shared two simple questions to help you reframe destructive thoughts and train your brain for growth. If you have not listened to that episode yet, go back and start there because this one will land so much better afterwards. In today’s episode, I’m continuing the roadmap to results and digging into why some people grow, earn more, create more freedom, and move on to the next big thing, while others stay stuck on the sidelines. This is about getting out of research mode and into action. It is about trying things before you deny them, being willing to experiment, and doing the work even when it feels uncomfortable. Because insight without action is worthless. Key takeaways 1. Try it before you deny it You cannot figure out how to grow from the sidelines. You have to experiment, apply what you are learning, and be willing to fail fast so you can learn faster. 2. Adopt the belief that everything is figureoutable If you do not believe you can figure things out, you will stagnate and hit a ceiling. Most problems and dreams are figureoutable, and if you truly care, you will find a way. 3. Do the work, not just the learning Most people are overloaded with information. Listening, reading, and consuming content is not the same as implementing. Taking action is the only path to change. 4. Stay in action, even when it is messy Growth gets messy before it gets better. If something does not make sense right now, come back to it later, but keep moving forwards. 5. Repetition is not an accident, it is how change happens Repetition is how we build neuroplasticity, rewire habits, and create lasting change. Expect to face the same issues again and again, just at different levels. 6. Community accelerates results When you apply all of this alongside like minded people who have your back, you reach goals faster, with more joy, creativity, and momentum. Resources and links Everything Is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo (book mentioned in the episode)Last week’s episode (listen first for the full context and the two mindset reframes)If you are trying to figure everything out alone right now, please hear this. It is figureoutable. Most of the time we have just overthought it, got in our own way, or let our mindset convince us it will not work. I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode, and I’ll see you back next week. Thanks for listening to the Treat Your Business podcast. S12 EP37 Train Your Brain for Growth

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. This week I’m doing something a little different with a short, sharp, high value episode you can listen to quickly, then get straight back to your busy clinical day. Episode summary In this episode I’m talking about why growth can feel messy, uncomfortable, and anything but linear, and why that is completely normal when you start properly working on your business. I share what I see in clinic owners who grow revenue, profit, and freedom, versus those who stay stuck, and I walk you through the first step in your roadmap to results: training your brain for growth. I cover two common destructive thoughts that shut down progress, then show you how to flip them into productive questions that help your brain find solutions. I also share a vulnerable story from Clinic Growth Live that highlights how mindset and openness to learning can change what you take from any room, training, or coaching. Key Takeaways Progress is rarely linear. Growth can get messy when you start changing pricing, systems, team structure, and decision making.Resilience matters. Humility, courage, self compassion, patience, humour, and a willingness to experiment help you move through the hard bits instead of retreating to what feels safe.Catch the thought “I know this already.” When I believe I already know something, I disengage and stop learning.Replace it with: What can I learn from this? Ask it with genuine curiosity, again and again.Catch the thought “This won’t work for me.” That belief shuts down possibility before I even try.Replace it with: How can this work for me? Repeating this question forces me to look for adaptations, opportunities, and new connections.Hearing something before is not the same as mastering it. Knowing something intellectually is different from doing it consistently and benefiting from it.My brain filters what I notice through my beliefs and mindset, so the questions I ask determine what I see and what I act on.Resources and links Quote referenced: Shirley Chisholm, “You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.”Questions to practise this week:What can I learn from this? How can this work for me?If things feel messy right now, I want you to know you’re not failing, you’re in it, and it is normal. Start with the first step: train your brain for growth by asking better questions. I’ll be back next week as we continue building your roadmap to results. S12 EP36 The 10% Fix That Changes Everything in Your Clinic

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome back to Treat Your Business, the show for clinic owners who want real, honest advice and tried and tested ways of doing things. I’m Katie Bell, and this is the new era of bigger insights and bolder conversations to help you grow a clinic and a life you love. Let’s dive in. Episode summary What if you did not need more clients to grow? In this episode, I’m sharing why the fastest, simplest way to take your clinic to the next level is often not about adding more, but about getting 10% better at the things already happening inside your business. I talk through the compound effect of small improvements across three core areas: conversion, retention, and pricing. When you turn the dial up by just 10% in each of these, you can increase revenue and profit without spending more on marketing, hiring more staff, or chasing the next shiny strategy. This is a CEO level shift. Moving from guessing to leading, from reacting to deciding, and from being in the business to actually running it. Key takeaways Small improvements compound fast. A 10% lift in the right places can create a huge difference over a year.Conversion matters more than you think. If you’re converting 70% of new patients into ongoing care, improving that to 80% can increase weekly sessions without spending another pound on marketing.Retention is where profit often lives. The real profit is rarely in session one. It is in sessions 2, 3, 4, 5, and beyond, when clients stay long enough to get results.Pricing increases do not need to be scary. Even a small increase, applied consistently across your client base, adds up quickly over 12 months. Most clinics do not have a lead problem, they have a leakage problem. Money comes in, then leaks out through poor follow up, weak rebooking, and missed reactivation. Fix the leak before you pour more in at the top.Systems beat goals. If you do not have a system for tracking and improving your numbers, you will keep hitting a ceiling, no matter how hard you work.Knowing your numbers is leadership. When you understand your numbers, you can do less, make better decisions, and feel more in control.Resources Atomic Habits by James ClearIf this episode has been a nudge to step out of the day to day and focus on what actually moves the needle, take it. For most clinics, that 10% is the difference between stress and control, between busy and profitable, and between feeling stuck and actually growing. S12 EP35 The Illusion of “More" in your business

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. I’m Katie Bell, and today I’m talking about the illusion of more. If you’ve been telling yourself you just need more money, more enquiries, more staff, or more sessions, this episode is your reminder to pause and look at what’s actually happening inside your clinic. Episode Summary Most clinic owners assume they have a growth problem, but often the real issue is hidden in the numbers. It might be conversion, retention, pricing, capacity, utilisation, or the way your diary is structured. In this quick fire episode, I share why guessing is costing you control, and the five numbers I believe every clinic owner needs to know. I also tell you how getting clear on my own numbers from month one helped me build a consistently profitable clinic, pay myself every month, and make decisions with confidence. Key Takeaways If you do not know your numbers, you are always guessing.“More” can be a distraction from fixing what is actually broken.A clinic can feel busy and still leak revenue through gaps, churn, poor conversion, or inefficient diary management.Your business is talking to you all the time, and it speaks through numbers.Clarity creates control. Once you see the truth in the data, you cannot unsee it.The five numbers I want every clinic owner to know How many enquiries you get each weekYour conversion rate from enquiry to new patient booking, and from new patient to ongoing treatmentYour average visits per clientYour average revenue per sessionYour utilisation, how full your diary actually is and how effectively hours turn into revenueIf you are listening and thinking, I do not really know those numbers and I am guessing, then take this as your sign to pull yourself out of the weeds and get a grip on what is actually going on in your clinic. You deserve a clinic that works well for you, and you deserve to make a fantastic living from the business you are building. That starts with knowing your numbers. S2 EP12 Clarity Creates Momentum: The One Leadership Shift Every Clinic Owner Needs

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 2: Clinic Leadership, Habits, and CEO Thinking Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. This is a short, sharp episode, because you do not always need 20 or 30 minutes of me talking to get a powerful takeaway. Sometimes you just need the right questions. Episode summary I have just come off the back of an annual strategy session with my leadership team, and the outcome I cared about most was not the numbers, the plan, or the targets. It was clarity. Absolute clarity on the vision for the next 12 months and what we stand for as a team. In this episode, I talk about how a lack of clarity does not just show up as confusion. It shows up as hesitation, inconsistency, lack of ownership, and your team passing problems back to you so everything runs through you. Clarity is not your team’s responsibility, it is yours. Your job is to create the vision, communicate it, repeat it, embed it, and live it in every conversation and decision. I leave you with a set of questions to help you check whether your team truly understands where the business is going, what you stand for, and how their role connects to the bigger picture. Key takeaways Clarity is the real outcome that creates momentum, not just plans and targets. If I asked your team what the next 12 months looks like, would they all say the same thing? If not, the vision is not clear enough.Lack of clarity often looks like hesitation, inconsistency, and people not stepping up.Clarity is my responsibility as the leader. I need to communicate it, repeat it, and embed it consistently.Values are not useful if they are just words on a wall. They need to be defined in behaviours and lived day to day.If my team cannot connect their day-to-day work to where the business is going, they will default to “just doing my job” and waiting to be told.I do not need to hold all the “how” myself. A clear vision allows multiple brains to contribute to making it happen.A good self check is noticing where I am saying “they need to step up”, when what is actually missing is more clarity from me.If this episode hit a nerve, that is usually where the opportunity is. If you know your business lacks clarity right now, that is probably the place to start. Thanks for listening, and I will be back next week. S12 EP34 Why Waiting to Feel Confident Is Killing Your Growth — And What to Do Instead

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome back to Treat Your Business. I’m recording this straight after a coaching session with our Ascend members, and I felt called to share something that can change how you approach growth. Today, I’m talking about the difference between fear and courage, and why courage is the real turning point when you want to level up. Episode Summary In this episode, I break down Dan Sullivan’s Four Cs model and explain why confidence is not the starting point. The process begins with commitment, then requires courage, which creates capability, and only then produces confidence. I share why procrastination and paralysis are often forms of courage avoidance, and how leaning into discomfort is the fastest way to create new skills, innovation, and results. Key Takeaways Fear is normal. Courage is taking action even when you feel afraid. There are only two options, courage or courage avoidance. Avoidance often looks like procrastination, paralysis, or busywork.Confidence is not what you need first. Confidence is the outcome of commitment, courage, and capability. The Four Cs model: Commitment: decide on a specific, measurable result by a specific dateCourage: take action before you feel readyCapability: build the skills by doing the workConfidence: the byproduct of the first three stagesStrong commitments and clear deadlines shorten the uncomfortable courage phase.Innovation comes from being committed and then figuring it out in the pressure of real action. If you keep playing it safe, you only get the same results you have already achieved.Resource / Links Dan Sullivan, The Four Cs model: Commitment, Courage, Capability, Confidence What have you been avoiding because you are waiting to feel confident first?
