Always use current BS 7671, manufacturer guidance, HSE guidance and your course material when carrying out electrical work or preparing for an assessment.

    Can a 20-Year Pro Pass a Level 3 Electrical Exam? ⚡

Can a qualified electrician with over 20 years on the tools still pass a Level 3 Electrical Science and Principles mock exam? ⚡Tool Box Talk Products to help aspiring sparks - https://toolboxtalkforelectricians.kit.com/productsThis is the one I was not looking forward to.After passing and failing a few of the other mock exams, I went back onto the Electmate app to take on Level 3 Paper 3: Electrical Science and Principles. And this one was full of calculations. In this video I cover:✅ Level 3 electrical science exam✅ Electrical principles mock exam✅ Ohm’s law questions✅ Resistors in series and parallel✅ Three-phase calculations✅ Transformer current questions✅ Power factor correction✅ Reactive power✅ Capacitive reactance✅ Inductive reactance✅ Motors and slip✅ DOL starters✅ CT clamps✅ Voltage drop✅ Lighting design and lux calculations✅ RMS and peak voltage✅ Energy, power and time✅ Electrical theory vs real-world site work✅ Electrician exam revision✅ Real electrician taking exams againSome of the questions I could work out from site experience. Some of them came back from the depths of my brain. And some of them… I had absolutely no chance without revision and formulas in front of me. 😂This exam shows the difference between being able to do the job in the real world and remembering the theory needed to pass electrical science papers.I’ve tested resistance loads for years. But have I sat there calculating capacitive reactance, transformer primary current or lighting lux levels on a normal domestic job?Not really. So, did I pass? No.Complete fail. But it was interesting to see what’s expected at Level 3 and what apprentices are having to learn now.Would you have passed this one?Drop your score in the comments.📌 Subscribe for more electrician exam videos, apprentice training, electrical theory, Level 3 revision and real-world sparky content.🎧 Listen to Toolbox Talks for Electricians for more ways to reduce stress, gain back time and earn more money.

Level 3 Electrician Exam: Did I Pass or Fail?

Can a qualified electrician with over 20 years on the tools pass a Level 3 Environmental Technology Systems mock exam? ⚡In this video, I take on another electrical exam — but this one is very different from the usual wiring, testing and health and safety questions. This paper covers modern electrical systems, renewable technology, energy efficiency, smart controls, solar PV, EV charging, heat pumps, battery storage and building automation. And I’ll be honest… this one was tough. In this video I cover:✅ Level 3 electrical mock exam✅ Environmental Technology Systems✅ KNX building automation✅ Retrofit in buildings✅ Smart Export Guarantee✅ Building integrated photovoltaics✅ Solar PV systems✅ Solar inverters✅ EV charging requirements✅ Type A and Type B RCD questions✅ Air source heat pumps✅ Heat pump defrost cycles✅ Battery storage✅ Peak shaving✅ Smart charging✅ IoT sensors✅ Power over Ethernet✅ Z-Wave smart home systems✅ Building automation✅ EPCs and energy labels✅ Part L questions✅ SAP and SBEM✅ Net zero targets✅ Waste hierarchy✅ Circular economy✅ MCS solar PV requirements✅ Real electrician vs modern exam questionsThis exam shows how much the electrical industry is changing.Years ago, being an electrician was mainly about wiring houses, consumer units, sockets, lights, testing and fault finding. Now, electricians are expected to understand solar, batteries, EV chargers, heat pumps, smart homes, energy performance, carbon targets, environmental rules and building automation systems. Some of it makes sense. Some of it feels like it belongs on a solar course, EV course or environmental technology course rather than a general electrician exam. But this is where the industry is heading.I was close… but this one got me.Would you have passed it?Drop your score in the comments.📌 Subscribe for more electrician exam videos, apprentice training, Level 3 electrical revision, electrical theory, solar PV, EV chargers, heat pumps and real-world sparky content.🎧 Listen to Toolbox Talks for Electricians for more ways to reduce stress, gain back time and earn more money.

Can a Qualified Electrician Pass Electrical Science?

Can a fully qualified electrician with over 20 years on the tools pass a Principles of Electrical Science mock exam? ⚡The software used in this videos is - Elec Mate https://www.elec-mate.com/r/REF-2B762DAfter passing the first health and safety mock exam, I decided to try the next one on the Electmate app — and this one was a different story. This exam covered RMS, flux density, capacitors, Ohm’s law, voltage drop, resistance, AC/DC, semiconductors, superconductors, efficiency, load factors, impedance and plenty of calculations I haven’t used much in real day-to-day domestic electrical work.✅ Level 2 electrical science mock exam✅ Principles of electrical science✅ Electrician exam questions✅ Ohm’s law calculations✅ RMS voltage✅ Capacitors and time constants✅ Voltage drop questions✅ Resistance and conductance✅ AC and DC theory✅ Semiconductors and superconductors✅ Load factor and efficiency✅ Electrical science terminology✅ Why revision matters✅ Qualified electrician taking exams again✅ Real-world electrician vs exam theorySome of the questions felt useful, some were worded in a confusing way, and some made me wonder how often a normal domestic spark actually uses this stuff on site. But that’s the point — exams are a different skill.Being good on the tools doesn’t automatically mean you’ll smash the theory paper without revision. This one gave me a proper reminder of how hard it can be for apprentices, trainees and adult learners going through electrical training today.Drop a comment and let me know — would you have passed this one?📌 Subscribe for more electrician exam videos, apprentice training, electrical theory, real-world sparky content and Toolbox Talks for Electricians.🎧 Listen to Toolbox Talks for Electricians for more ways to reduce stress, gain back time and earn more money.
