They Said I’d Never Walk Again

Life changed in an instant. A downhill mountain biking accident in 2018 left Kenton Matthews with a devastating spinal cord injury. Doctors warned he may never walk again. Today, he rides multiple times a week, leads two successful businesses and continues to prove that resilience is built one decision at a time. But this isn’t just a story about recovery. It’s a conversation about identity, purpose, discipline, health, business and learning to focus on what you can control when life doesn’t go to plan. In this episode, Kenton shares the moments no one sees, the physical challenges he still lives with every day, the mental battle of rebuilding his life, the lessons he’s learnt through adversity, and why he believes health is our greatest asset. We also explore: • The mindset that helped him learn to walk again • Why he got back on the bike after nearly losing everything • Building successful businesses through resilience and accountability • Why “control the controllables” became his philosophy • The importance of purpose, community and taking ownership of your future This is an honest and powerful conversation about what it really means to Build a Life that Lasts. The Future of Health Is in Your Hands

What if the future of health isn’t in the hands of doctors, hospitals or governments… but in yours? In this powerful conversation, Magnus Olson and Don Sanka sit down with Dr Vu Tran and Gopi Sara to explore the future of healthcare, longevity, prevention, AI, full-body MRI scans, blood testing, addiction, lifestyle habits and personal responsibility. We discuss: • Why healthcare is built to treat disease rather than prevent it • How AI is changing medicine faster than most people realise • Why consumers are becoming more informed than ever before • The role of full-body MRI scans and preventative testing • The truth about alcohol, addiction and habit formation • Why connection may be the missing ingredient in modern health • The simple daily habits that can dramatically improve your healthspan and lifespan One of the biggest takeaways? Most people are searching for complex solutions while ignoring the fundamentals. Walk more. Drink more water. Eat more fibre. Sleep better. Take ownership of your health. The future of healthcare is changing rapidly, and this conversation explores what that means for all of us. Watch the full episode and let us know your biggest takeaway in the comments. Dyslexic. Failed Year 10 Three Times. Speaks 4 Languages. Built a Mental Health App. How?

Nothing was enough. Not the deep sea. Not Saudi Arabia. Not the addiction. Not the depression. Not the moments that nearly broke him completely. Scott Soutter grew up hard in Mount Isa. Failed Year 10 three times. Dyslexic. Worked the toughest jobs on earth — boilermaker, commercial diver, deep sea salvage. Lived and worked in Saudi Arabia. Battled addiction and depression in the shadows where nobody could see it. Then rebuilt himself from the ground up. Today Scott speaks four languages, has completed two trades, written a book, and built a mental health app. Not because life got easier — but because he decided that nothing would be enough to keep him down. In this episode of the M26FIT Podcast, Magnus Olson sits down with Scott for one of the most raw, honest and genuinely extraordinary conversations we've ever had on this show. They go deep on: - Growing up in Mount Isa and what it forged in him - What working as a boilermaker taught him about hard work and survival - The psychological demands of deep sea and commercial diving - What led him to Saudi Arabia and what he encountered there - When addiction and depression nearly took everything — and what pulled him back - The turning point that forced him to rebuild his entire life - His journey into self-development, meditation and spiritual fitness - His book The Boy on a Log and the lessons inside it - What real resilience actually means after everything he's survived - Where true strength really comes from — the body, the mind, or something deeper This is a conversation for every man who has ever felt lost, stuck, or written off. It's never too late. The worst chapters don't define you. And the most extraordinary lives are often built by the people the world counted out first. YES YOU CAN.
