    How DECA Can Bring Out Curiosities in AR

    This past weekend, I was a judge at Ohio state's DECA competition. It was great seeing all the high schoolers work to present what they have been creating.  What I found most interesting was one gentleman whose demeanor changed when we were discussing how Snapchat filters can be created and customized for his presentation. He was much more excited about the possiblities of using Snapchat filters than he was when giving his presentation.  I think that there's an opportunity there to inspire curiosity and promote computer science skills in the DECA world.     Failing is a Good Thing - Because That's Where Learning Grows.

    In this week's episode I discuss my personal failures in obtaining AWS Certifications and what the benefit (there was a benefit) was from those failures. I share these struggles with my students because it's important for them to see that one failure (or even two) does not mean it will never happen.     SnapIntoIt at FETC

    In this episode I talk about the upcoming Future of Education Technology Conference taking place next week in New Orleans. I'll be presenting a workshop titled "Snap Into It" that focuses on how Snapchat can be used as an engaging learning tool in the classroom.     In this first episode I dive into my background and what has led me here start 2023 with a new chapter and starting my own training center with Bytes and Bits.  My background is working in higher ed and technology and I've decided to take my love of teaching and technology outside the education sector and focus on training individuals who may not fit the traditional means of education.
