    E 330: The Casualty of Freedom

    Mark is back behind the mic in Studio B to discuss the casualties of Freedom.  We have a reference or two to the cost of Freedom, but what are the casualties of Freedom? Today we will focus on the unrest in France as we examine the root cause behind the violent protests abroad.  Is it really about social disorder, discomfort with conditions at the institutions of higher learning or is it something else? Why do we have people riot against problem solving, common sense initiatives and progress.  Progress and better global security for all nations?   Why is it many on the left of common sense continue to push back against Trumps vision of a Golden Age?  Can’t they see that as long as the bullies of Iran remain a threat to global harmony, there will never be peace on earth. Assimilation or the lack thereof, is the key to understanding why France and other nations are burning to the ground. In America, our freedom comes from the visions of our forefathers as captured in our Constitution.  But in France, they thought that freedom would come from Woke policies and a tolerant mindset.  The challenge they face is that their open door policies to  accept anyone and everyone into their country and culture, failed to consider the intentions of their guests.   They assumed everyone would want to assimilate and become part of the cherished culture of France. With nearly one third of their population being of Muslim decent, the French are learning in real time that their guest do not assimilate well.  In fact, they had no intentions of assimilating at all.   Will America be asked to help France once again?  Do their European neighbors have the resources to help retake the streets of France from their invading guests? Is it simply radical Islamist or is it more accurate to suggest it’s an invading culture that does not assimilate?   Join us today as we discuss these challenges and hopefully bring clarity and discernment to the fore.     E 328: Moral Decay Can't Be The Way

    In follow up on last weeks show entitled Moral Truths avoided by the Pulpit, we thought it appropriate to say a few things the pulpit won’t in this episode. One Pastor that is speaking truth is Pastor Willie Rice, Pastor and President of the Southern Baptist Convention.  Pastor Rice makes the case that Christians and Church elders should engage, not in political sides, but in the arguments that counter the Christian walk. Moral decay refers to the deterioration of ethical and moral standards within a society or individual. Society gradually weakens from shared ethical standards, rules of right and wrong, and social trust. The Bible presents moral decay as a turning away from God's commands that leads to personal separation, societal disorder, and spiritual ruin. Self-Reliance: As described in Judges 21:25, "everyone did what was right in his own eyes," creating lawlessness and confusion. Selfishness and Greed: Passages like 2 Timothy 3:1-5 warn that people will become lovers of themselves and money rather than lovers of God.  Key Scriptural Example: The Period of the Judges: A repeating cycle where Israel strayed from God, leading to social fracture and chaos. Sodom and Gomorrah: Genesis 18-12 highlights extreme societal immorality and lack of justice that brought total destruction. Romans 1:28-32: Paul details how a society that refuses to acknowledge God. So how do we correct our course? According to biblical teaching, first, you must have your own house in order. 1 Timothy 3:1–7 If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?  Matthew 7:2-6  “For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.” So if America is going to continue to boast being a city on a hill and an example of a free democratic republic, it could be argued that Trumps America First initiative is both biblical and appropriate. We need to clean our own house first.  In the Old Testament many leaders “cleaned” their temple before moving forward.  Hezekiah comes to mind. Our Justice system must be cleansed of corruption and wolves in sheep clothing.  Sentencing must prevail.  Bail can no longer be waived out of fear of backlash or radical left ideologies of chaos. The Supreme Court must be held accountable.  How do we do that?  First let's start with the lower level bias Judges at the State level.     E 327: Moral Truths Avoided In Todays Pulpits

    It's great to have Mark join Paul and I back in studio.  Welcome to One Day Closer where we are rekindling a spirit of Hope and Truth in today's crazy conversations. Today we will be exploring the Moral Truths that many Pastors avoid like the plague while behind the pulpit.  There are just some moral truths that pastors and priest refuse to discuss.  We will explore why that is and step out and share these truths with you.   We’ve talked about Federal Stupidity and Apathy which is rampant in our society. Check out episode 145 “individual Apathy”. Here's today foundational scripture: 2 Timothy 4:3-4  "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." Corruption in politics; Corruption within Corporate America; Societal Silence:  The fear of tackling cultural and societal issues contrary to moral truth. God is binary; Trans Sports conflict; Critical Race Theory; Gender Confusion; Gender Affirming Mutilation, etc. Can you recall a Pastor ever coming to the fore to speak truth to these issues? WHO and where are the Prophets, Overseers, Watchmen, and spiritual voices today? Who were they in biblical days? - Moses wasn’t elected.  He was called.   Joshua was appointed.   David was anointed.   Who are they today? Franklin Graham, Dr. Jeffries, Charles Stanley, Pastor Hibbs The difference between “elders or overseers” of the early church and  pastors today. Our second foundational scripture for today: 1 Timothy 3:1–7 "If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. Qualifications for Overseers.  Paul does not give a job description of the pastor but instead describes the character of one who would serve in this office. The list of qualities is not intended to be exhaustive but pictures a person of mature Christian character, one whose faith has had tangible impact on his behavior. Let’s talk about Individual Apathy.  You might say…”the problems in the world today are TOO BIG…TOO VAST…THE MOUNTAIN IS SIMPLY TOO HIGH.  What can I possibly do?  ZOOM in on YOUR specific area of influence.  Don’t be overwhelmed about the height, breadth or depth of the obstacle.   Bible verses to ponder about Apathy and biblical guidance for us to follow. Revelation 3:16  So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Romans 12:11  Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Revelation 3:2  Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God James 4:17  So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. Galatians 6:9  And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up Hebrews 5:11-12  About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 1 Thessalonians 5:21  But test everything; hold fast what is good. Matthew 24:12  And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. Hebrews 10:38-39  But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. Isaiah 5:20-21  Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight Hebrews 3:6  But Christ is faithful over God's house as a son.     E 326: The Case for Meritocracy in Government: Hiring Requirements & Job Qualifications

    Meritocracy is a social, political, or economic system where people get power, success, and rewards based on their individual talents and hard work rather than their wealth or family background The United States government operates as a democratic republic rather than a pure Meritocracy, meaning political power is won through public elections and political appointments rather than strictly through tested ability or expertise.  But shouldn't these elected or appointed representatives have real world expertise or qualifications to be considered? If you have never been a low level supervisor managing a department of ten people, how could you possibly manage the numerous budgets and personnel to run one of the largest cities on the planet? In the corporate world, job candidates or applicants are recruited, vetted and eventually selected to fill a role based on their previous work experience and their success.   Today we will discuss why this discipline of Meritocracy vetting needs to be reconsidered in politics today. Democratic Elections vs. Meritocracy Popularity over test scores: Voters choose leaders based on political views, campaigns, and public appeal instead of academic or technical exams.  But what about job qualifications?  Shouldn't that also be a criteria?     E 325: Never Forget: A Message to Gen Z

    A message for Gen Z.  Peace & Prosperity is on the ballot. Welcome back to One Day Closer where we are rekindling a spirit of Hope and Truth into today’s conversations.  If you are joining us for the first time, we have spent the past month teeing up the importance of this year’s midterms in America.  For our listeners abroad who may care little for our elections, bear with us, the outcome of these elections just might affect your region of the world, either in a good way or a bad way. Which begs the question, what is on the line in the upcoming Midterms?  Do you want to relive the Biden Presidency of ongoing Impeachment procedures against Trump and his cabinet or continue to enjoy the anticipated growth and prosperity coming with Trumps Golden Age Vision? The democrat party is united and has gone on record stating that their number one priority should they win the midterms and take control of the House and Senate, they will be hellbent on obstructing Trumps current success in delivering on his promise of establishing a strong foundation for Americas Golden Age. Under Biden we all endured divisive division among the races, classes and ethnic groups.  Interest rates were north of 9.4%.  Under Trump inflation is currently 3%.  Under Biden, gas prices were as high as $8 dollars pending where you lived.   The dems have vowed to pursue Impeachment proceedings day one.  We have lived through this before.  Instead of building a stronger America they spent their time and energy to make her weak and vulnerable on the global stage and here at home. In your episode 291 entitled  “2026 House Cleaning: Sunlight is the best disinfectant,” you and Mark captured many of differences under democrat leadership and republican leadership.  Here’s a quick review. Last year, Trumps first year of his second term, revealed just how severe Trump Derangement illness is.  After witnessing a Trump mandate smackdown…the left learned nothing.  After all the votes were counted, Kamala and Waltz were not just losers, they left the party bankrupt and in debt for over $20 million!  And their supporters did not run them out of town!  Their supporters didn’t seem to care.  Why?   While you’re there, listen to our show “2025 in the rearview mirror:  The year of the American Heist.”  That would be episode 288.  We discuss two significant accomplishments that occurred last year. The election of Donald J Trump confirmed that Americans aren’t crazy.  They voted for a FIXERElon Musk unleashed DOGE - The first American Deep state Audit in DecadesThis Long Overdue Audit of the Deep State revealed jaw dropping revelations. The level of Fraud, Waste and Abuse proved to be staggering in size and systemic in scope, known but overlooked for decades, primarily in blue cities.   USAid - $9billion.  In June, Senate passed the $9B Rescission Bill to cut additional  spending, defunding US AID, PBS and NPR, first in 30 years!  The Minnesota Somali Scam initially thought to be $1 billion in stolen tax payer dollars is now projected to pass $18 to $20 billion!  An industrial scale fraud.  And that’s just one blue state. Rep. Omar founded the Feed the Future scam at $250m.  Fake food kitchens for children that didn’t exist.  Ilhan Omar, Senator was worth $65,000 in 2018.  In 2025 she was worth $30 million.  How does that work?  Don’t forget the Somali Autism Scam $1-$2B. Autism clinics increased from 20 to over 400 needing millions in funding to tend to the crisis…which was a scam.  The amount of fraud, corruption, scamming, looting from the American treasury could exceed a half a Trillion if this same trend manifests in the other blue states. Scamsters who claimed to be over 115 years old, scored loans worth $333 million, including $36,000 to a 157-year-old.  Auditors also found that $79 billion - nearly half of the improper payments - could have been prevented if simple fraud-detection questions had been asked of applicants    Student Loan fraud exposed by Linda McMahon, Education Secretary.  $1B in loans were issued to bots, ghost students or dead people…no oversight or ID verification requirements. The 2025 November report tagged inflation at 2.7).   Even CNN analyst confirmed this number.As of mid-December 2025, before we embarked on bringing Iran to heel, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the U.S. hovers around  $2.91.  The highest nationwide average gas price under Biden reached a record $5.03 per gallon in June 2022  52 Wall Street record highs in stock market within the first 10 months (12/9/25 Trump)Tariff Revenues exceeds $60 billion per monthLargest Tax cuts in American history began 2026 Home mortgage rates are coming down.  A 30 year fixed mortgage before Joe took office was 2.7%. Under Joe they reached 8% in 2023.  After one year in office rates have adjusted downward under Trump to 5.9% to 6.2% for a 30 year fixed.  More FED cuts are expected in 2026. Trump secured international commitments to invest in America to the tune of 17 To 21 Trillion in new investments into America from corporations around the worldCNN acknowledges this is the most productive presidency on record 700,000 NEW Private Sector jobs created in Trumps first yearTurning point USA growth:  Last week, Erika Kirk rattled off statistics about Turning Point's remarkable growth since Sept. 10, including more than 1 million students involved, 3,082 Club America chapters and 1,432 college chapters.We could go on and on.They flooded the border with unvetted and illegal immigrants.  Protests, riots, multiple billions of tax payer dollars were siphoned off to Somalians and our safety net funds for Americans that needed it, and given to illegals in exchange for voting loyalty. 75% of moderate democrats would vote Socialist party falsely thinking that the problems they are complaining about were due to Trumps presidency instead of Biden’s. Their ideas for correcting their grievances include:  Impeaching Trump.  Abolishing ICE and defunding the Police.  Abolishing prisons.  Reopening the border.  Abolishing legal immigration.  Abolishing the Senate and the Presidency.  Flood Congress with Democrat Socialist and Communist activist.  Defund the military.  Continue the indoctrination of our children at all ages on all topics.  This is the Communist Manifesto almost to the letter.  This is a hostile takeover.  That is why these Midterms are so critical! According to the Cato Institute, the total cost of democratic socialist spending proposals would be $71.2 trillion on the low end to $211.6 trillion on the high end.  Think about that over the next week.  Do you really want to give control to a bunch of wealthy, educated but have no real job experience or record of running anything bigger than a food truck or attending bar?   Do you really want these crazy activist spending your money like drunken sailors, only to learn their crazy ideas didn’t work?     E 324: Identifying Party Differences for the 2026 Midterm Policies and Priorities by Party

    Welcome back to One Day Closer where we are rekindling a spirit of Hope and Truth into today's crazy conversations.  Today, Paul will join me again as we highlight both the hot and trendy talking points by party for the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. What we hope to highlight is that the "trendy" slogans of the far left that promise to make everything free, does nothing to improve anything in America.  It's abolish this and cancel that with no submitted ideas or thoughts as to how to reform anything.  Their platform policies and priorities construct nothing.  It's destructive in every sense of the word. The "hot" topics that actually empower our economy, paves a way to sustainable affordability and truly lifts all boats and what you'll hear from the conservative candidates.  Resolving once and for all the hostage takeover of the Strait of Hormuz by Irans IRGC is job one.  Addressing and ending their feeble desire to control the economies of the entire world must end.  All the rationale nations of the world realize that Iran can no longer be trusted at the table. TRENDY but feckless positions or priorities that do not influence Economics nor improves America tend to be only offering the far left Democrat Socialist of America have to offer.  Abolish everything with no ideas or thoughts to offer for making America better.     E 323: Free Enterprise Capitalism vs Progressive Collectivism

    Welcome to One Day Closer where we are rekindling a spirit of Hope and Truth into today’s conversations.  I’m happy to have Paul back in studio today to help us dive deeper into our series on Pencil Neck Politicians, Positions and Policies.  Today class we will explain the difference between Progressive Collectivism (Socialist / Communism) and Free Market Enterprise or most referred to as Capitalism. How to explain progressivism, socialism, the differences between the two and capitalism and free enterprise system?   Let's first expose and debunk the myths associated with each and then take a closer look at their basic definitions.  We'll do a quick and easy AI driven Google search. Progressive Collectivism defined: Progressive collectivism is a political and economic perspective that combines progressivism's focus on societal reform with collectivism's emphasis on group welfare over individual autonomy.   Progressive collectivism seeks to reform capitalism through state-directed social welfare and regulation, whereas socialism seeks to completely replace capitalist private ownership with public or worker control of the economy.  Core Concepts Group Think: Society and the community are viewed as the primary units of social organization rather than the individual.Government Intervention: An active, centralized government or administrative state is used to manage economic systems, correct market failures, and provide social safety nets.Shared Responsibility: Costs, resources, and decision-making are pooled collectively to promote social equity and public welfare. Key Characteristics Economic Regulation: Advocates for critiques of unregulated capitalism, checks on corporate monopolies, and sometimes public or collective ownership of key resources.Social Equity: Focuses on group-oriented egalitarian goals, civil rights, and collective responses to systemic social issues.Administrative Expertise: Relies on government planners, experts, and bureaucratic institutions to direct social and economic progress.Criticisms Loss of Individual Liberty: Critics from individualist and libertarian viewpoints (such as Friedrich Hayek or Ludwig von Mises) argue that collective control suppresses personal sovereignty, local autonomy, and voluntary cooperation through state coercion. Concentration of Power: Detractors contend that centralizing decisions in an administrative bureaucracy transfers true power to a ruling elite rather than an autonomous collective. The difference between Progressive Collectivism and Socialism Progressive Collectivism: A reformist political approach that values individual rights while using government intervention, taxation, and social safety nets to fix the inequalities of a market economy. Socialism: An economic and political system where the means of production (such as factories, tools, and land) are owned and managed collectively by the workers or the public rather than private capitalists. Key Differences Stance on Capitalism: Progressives want to regulate and improve capitalism so it serves the public good (e.g., through minimum wage laws and public healthcare).
