    This week on Policy & Chill, our hosts Rajiv & Kusha have had super busy schedules and unfortunately could not record a podcast episode. However, please enjoy this previously unpublished throwback episode hosted by our PEBS member, Yip where Rajiv is joined with renowned real estate agent, Shawn, to talk about the property market in Malaysia. With property prices post-Covid rising ever so steeply, youths are getting more and more frustrated with the inflation in real estate value. Owning a property seems like a distant dream or a goal far into the future for a lot of today's youths. TikTok trends are influencing young working adults to start investing in property at an early stage and giving useful tips to help achieve those goals. However, how accurate is the information and how viable are these trends? Let's hear Rajiv and Shawn's take on this!     Selangor is currently the state with the most advanced and most comprehensive public transport system. With many train lines and public buses available, along with the new Putrajaya MRT and upcoming Shah Alam LRT, almost the whole state is connected and easily accessible. However, this is not the case throughout other states in Malaysia. There's still a long way to go for public transport efficiency. Rajiv has been quite vocal about his advocacy for public transport with wider coverage, and has put that thought into action with his Kumpool initiative, helping connect the people of Petaling Jaya for highly subsidized rates. As a proud multiracial country, the existence of racism in such a fundamental aspect of life is quite disappointing. Although the principle of equality is included in the Malaysian constitution, the absence of laws against racial discrimination makes it easy for landlords to discriminate against certain races. This is felt most by the Indians as property owners run ads emphasizing "Chinese Only" or "Muslim Only". Do you think it is fair for the owners to have a right of preference?
