It's the day after the midterms. This show airs the day after this defining election, and no doubt, there will be votes being counted in many places that may take days or even weeks before we know the election results, I thought it might be appropriate to discuss…regardless of the outcome…What comes next? For the past three months, One Day Closer dove deep into the dark and murky waters of politics, in advance of the mid-term elections, in hopes of shedding light into the prevailing parties, the players and their polices. Our goal was to simply speak truth about what we all should be able to acknowledge (regardless of party), like the difference between a “peaceful protest” or a city “burning to the ground”. Or how to discern, measure and score the intentions of the players and candidates and accurately assess the “do-ability” of those polices over both the short and longterm. Regardless of today’s results, this election will usher in a new day, a new season of pioneering potentially risky and unknown technologies like AI, new global challenges surrounding manageable immigration, mass cultural invasions and assimilation challenges and quite possibly new and exciting opportunities that could change both global cultures and economics for many years to come. Things we decide to fight for that are at worst, uncertain and requiring of personal sacrifice, and at best, paves a safe and thoughtful future for our grandchildren and their children. One thing is certain. Change is constant and like it or not, change is coming. You can fight against it or you can fight for it. I guess there’s a third option. You could opt to be neutral or lukewarm and just watch things fall as they may, but again, regardless of your position, change is inevitable. Hopefully this show will help you determine what is your “next right thing” decision as you ponder your role, tactics and strategy going forward. If conservatives hold both houses of congress…what comes next on the pathway to the Golden Age? The movement to cleanse our country will advance for the better, but it won’t be easy and I doubt it will be pretty. Done wisely and leveraging commonsense, life will become more affordable, interest rates will adjust downward, as will the cost of gas. Prosperity and pride in our country will soar, as optimism increases and justice manifest. We’ll need to be both patient and supportive…as positive and righteous change doesn’t come easy and seldom over night. Remember: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Massive cargo ships and battle worthy Aircraft Carriers don’t turn on a dime. Diets targeting years of weight gain and bad eating habits don’t show progress overnight or even in a month. They take time, patience, persistence and steadfast resolve. Americans desiring to hold and preserve our freedoms, culture and values will also need patience, persistence and a steadfast resolve. Newt Gingrich, a former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and a most highly regarded historian, author and scholar on world history and politics just released his latest book entitled America’s Golden Age - Trumpism and an Era of Limitless Possibilities. He tells Americas story by examining her in fifty year increments. So if you want a vision of what your grandchildren will be enjoying on our nation’s tricentennial in 2076, read this book. Now if the Democrat Socialist of America party manages to secure enough seats to impede Americas current progress…the question on the floor remains. What comes next? They have already told us what to expect. It will look a lot like the eight years prior to Trumps second term. Non stop Impeachment request, non stop violent protests and chaos. Without question, they will inflate or infiltrate a bigger government than we need, making it even harder to monitor and isolate fraud, waste, abuse and corruption. Crazy proposals that add nothing to advance our progress over the past 250 years, but rather Marxist dreams that always, without fail, delivers poverty to all equally, except for the few at the top. Regardless of the outcome…our mission, for those operating from the right side of their brain, our mission is well defined. Do our level best to support and work towards ushering in the Golden Age of opportunity. Deploy both caution and optimism in this quest. Be patient, focused, engaged and resolute in whatever your gifts equip you to accomplish. And for those operating from the very small lethargic left part of their brain, they too will have to exercise patience as they line up for their tenth booster vaccine to calm their TDS state of mind. If yesterday’s election results serve to slow or impede America’s quest for the Golden Age and all that that would bring, our mission statement, for those on the right, can be defined in three short words: “Hold The Line.” Hold the line against dark forces of evil, continue to expose deception and corruption; and stay in the fight for liberty and justice for all. Never Surrender! This country’s history and her accomplishments over the past 250 years is worth fighting for. For many that have gone before us, it was and remains worth dying for. Hopefully, that last full measure will not be required of us normal non-military serving Americas, but holding the line and staying in the fight at the federal, state and local levels, will be required. There’s a guy in our men’s group that lives by this motto regardless of what challenges he has faced over the years and I can attest that he has seen many. He says, “Whatever happens…Just do the Next Right Thing.” Seems logical, rational and sounds pretty simple, right? But if you ponder this statement long enough…it can actually be quite challenging to discern just WHAT IS the next right thing? The Bible suggests that when you have a conflict, a dispute with another or unable to determine the next right move…you are to pray. Next you are advised to seek counsel from peers, brothers or friends for advice. If the matter continues to be unresolved, God instituted Judges and protocols to help facilitate righteous decision making and exact justice. A quick interpretation of these processes means simply this. We are called to uphold righteous behaviors, character traits that are worthy of emulating and hence, worth fighting for. We surrender only to Christ and then set off on a life long journey to emulate Christ in all we do. Life is a battle…it will forever be a battle against good and evil. Evil will exist right up to the last days. As evidence of this, the final message given to John to record in the book of Revelation is found in chapter 22 starting with verse 11. "Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.” (vs 11). Picture a light switch. The good people are fighting to keep the light on to expose evil and the bad people are fighting to turn the switch off as not to be seen. “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. (vs 12). When He comes, do you want to be caught fighting to keep the light on or off? Choose wisely grasshopper. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying (vs 15). Question. If life isn’t a battle, then why did God give us his Armor? Check out Ephesians chapter 6 where we are instructed to be strong and put on the full Armor of God. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,” Ephesians 6:10-18 Twice we are told to take up and put on the full armor of God and three times we are told to STAND FIRM. I was never the brightest kid in class, but I’m guessing the repetition is important. Everyday that we are given, brings us all One Day Closer to finishing our race and going home. Serving both as Christians and as Citizens, we all have a job to do…and that is…to simply do the next right thing...regardless of what lies just beyond the bend.
