Permission to be Messy

JoAnn Krall

Getting organized isn't about perfection. It's about creating enough order in your life and business so you can focus on what matters most. Welcome to Permission to Be Messy, a podcast where we explore the practical and personal sides of getting organized, from clearing physical and digital clutter to understanding the thoughts, habits, and experiences that influence how we manage our lives. I'm JoAnn Krall, and I've been helping people get organized since 2006. While much of my work today focuses on helping business owners organize their information, simplify their systems, and work more efficiently, I know that disorganization doesn't stay neatly contained in one area of our lives. Life happens. We have children, change jobs, lose loved ones, move, experience illness, and navigate unexpected challenges. Sometimes our organizing struggles are connected to ADHD, OCD, perfectionism, or simply having too much on our plates. Through honest conversations, practical advice, personal stories, and interviews with guests, we'll explore why we struggle with clutter, how to make decisions with greater confidence, and what it really takes to create organization that works for us. Whether you've struggled with disorganization for years or you're facing a new season of life, my goal is to help you make progress without the pressure of getting everything perfect. Because you don't need to have it all together to live and work well. You have permission to be messy.

Overthinking, Old Beliefs, and the Clutter We Keep

SHOW NOTES:   Full transcript here: Permission to be Messy Episode 69  Overthinking, Old Beliefs, and the Clutter We Keep Have you ever struggled to let something go, even when you know you don't need it anymore? In this episode of Permission to Be Messy, I'm joined by Cindi Frechette. Cindi is the creator of The Unknow Method and is known by her clients as The Un-Chaos Coach. After nearly 20 years as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Cindi realized that most women don't have a decision-making problem. They're navigating conflicting values, inherited expectations, people-pleasing, and the pressure to make the "perfect" choice, all while carrying an invisible mental load. Through The Unknow Method, Cindi helps women uncover and interrupt the hidden thinking patterns that have been driving their decisions for years so they can stop overthinking, make decisions without guilt, reclaim their energy, and build lives that reflect their own values instead of everyone else's expectations. We talk about why we attach so much meaning to our belongings, why finding the "perfect" place to donate something can keep us stuck, and how recognizing the stories we're telling ourselves can make letting go easier. It's a great conversation about the connection between mental and physical clutter and why getting organized sometimes requires looking beyond the stuff itself.   Connect with Cindi: Website: https://unknowmethod.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unknowwithcindi Cindi shares a quiz to help you discover your decision-making patterns. https://unknowmethod.com/opt-in   Connect with JoAnn: If you have questions, feedback, or specific topics you would like covered in future episodes, and to book your free call, reach out to me at https://joannkrall.com/site/contact  Visit my Learn With Me page for free resources and ways to work with me.
